Me too, like you ,Santina ,i know it perfectly .INCREDIBLE and INIMITABLE SHAKATAK, they are FABULOUS. I love this band so much that I always wonder how the rest of the world who spends their time listening to "pseudo-artists" with invisible or microscopic talent who drunk us with worthless songs (musical) and without any interest, can ignore the existence of REAL AND GREAT ARTISTS stuffed with TALENT like THEM as well as others that the RADIOS have voluntarily left aside in favor of such a crappy system which is in the habit of putting forward what we can call "SHIT". This is because the sound compression ratio was different depending on the resolution. that's why. At that time, the video resolution had to be set to 720p or higher. It is designed to improve sound quality.

I had no idea when I was listening to this pre-teens in the early 80's, where this came from; one of my older siblings had the music as far as I can remember. I came back to Shakatak (when I finally found out who they were) in about 2008 when a friend and I were trying to cover this and Night Birds for amateur gigs, and trying to imitate this pianist's lines was killing me. I was totally surprised to find out a few years ago that they were actually from here in the UK. Epitome of funk; and as for the pianist's lines; just wow, can listen all day.

You're very lucky to be living in the UK. I'm a United States citizen. As far as I know, Shakatak has never toured here, and no radio stations play their music. But I'm used to being envious of UK residents. Basia, Swing Out Sister, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jamiroquai and Everything But The Girl are living in the UK. Even Japan gets to see these bands far more often. I guess it's because they're appreciated there.
