After myself and others continue having unequal volume problems on the saddle pickup, I now recommend people just use the MultiOud strings Godin sells for this instrument as the saddle is probably designed for the optimal tension.

Nice video. I have a question: how well does the MultiOud take distortion or high gain? Have you tried it? I would guess it would feed back like hell because it has hollow body and has a piezo pickups. Any thoughts?

Are there any difference between Arabic oud tunings and Turkish ones ? For this video what’s your tuning like top to bottom ? Love your videos and thanks for sharing you’re amazing!

Yes. Arabic Ouds and Turkish Ouds are tuned a whole step higher or lower. If you tune an Arabic Oud DGADgc then the equivalent Turkish tuning would be EABEad. I usually tune CFADgc

A multioud is like an electric acoustic oud right ? With which strings could we have the nearest notes and sounds of a syrian acoustic oud ?

Of course, he is one of my favourite Oud players! I love his album Ana wa Oudi.

Although the MultiOud *could* be good for playing live, it is still far from modern sounding ouds like Khalid Belhaiba (the one you called Said Chraibi sound). I have been working for a very long time on capturing the sound of Ouds, and hell it's way more complicated than guitars. Don't get me wrong, Godin's approach for Oud is a very welcome attempt to modernize this beautiful instrument, just not there yet. Thanks for the videos!
