Multiple Alleles- Eye Colour in Drosophila

Eye colour in Drosophila is determined by different type of alleles. Red eye colour is wild and dominant allele while white eye is a recessive and first mutant arose from the wild alllele. apart from of these two alleles, gene locus also contains other different intermediate alleles of red and white which will decide shade of eye colour in Drosophila. So many alleles are involved in the phenotypic expression of eye colour in Drosophila hence it becomes an example of Multiple alleles.
