Love your videos, so clear and concise; so helpful for this advanced beginner. And you're so encouraging! Been dreading warping with two colors, the tying on; knots are evil! But this method of the "holding" peg, genius! Hard to see how you're working the colors at the cross, e.g. "yellow first, green second" but I'll just do some test runs! Would love if you would do a video on color and weave, how to warp with two colors (say black and white) and threading with the 2 alternate colors. I'm SO confused! :D Well, thank you! Off to watch more of your videos!

It's never too late, Jocelyn! Thank you so much for the kind words! It's a combination of plain weave and a touch of twill. Easy enough! Happy Weaving!

Hi Chris! Do you recommend using this trick getting both colours together in one hand to measure the warp of the October Weave Along? (I mean when I measure for example the dark and light pink) Thanks! 💗
@ActonCreative Жыл бұрын
Hi! Absolutely! Because you will pair the 2 colors throughout the entire warp, it'll work great! Let me know if you have follow-up questions!

What I dont understand is this: if i have a color that i need an uneven number of passes of, that colour will end on the bottom. Can i still treat it the same way, that is, get it out of the way for later, or how do i do it? And if my for example green ended at the bottom and i would need a color from the top next, that would mess up the cross no? My warps are always tangled haha
@ActonCreative2 жыл бұрын
Great question, Janina!! What matters most is the cross. So your yarns can start from the top or the bottom, as long as they overlap correctly at the cross. Now with that being said, sometimes that gets very confusing using an opposite motion with your yarn. So if it gets fuzzy in your head, just tie off the yarn wherever it is and move it to the other end of the board so it makes sense. When it all comes off the warping board, we won't be able to tell the directions the yarns came from. But we will be able to tell if the cross isn't right. I hope that helps! Just let me know if you need further clarification!

For me the very hard part is avoiding the 2 threads twisting around each other. I can’t tell if my mistake is how I hold the threads or if I am twisting them when I change direction (let’s say around a peg) or turning back at the cross 😢
@ActonCreative Жыл бұрын
Hi Camilo! As long as the yarns end up the same length and in order, a little twisting shouldn't be a problem. Does the twisting cause you grief in a later part of the process? Thoughts?
@camilorojas1744 Жыл бұрын
@@ActonCreative no problems later on, but the twisting get so bad sometimes that the warping becomes a bit of a struggle
@ActonCreative Жыл бұрын
@@camilorojas1744 Ah! The warp yarns didn't have a chance to relax and untwist - is that right?
