There are snout protectors that slide over the snout and has a teflon deflector that helps get the downed corn and keeps the tip from digging in the ground. The teflon plate bolts on under the tip to hold the tip off the ground yet lets it skim the ground for the downed corn.

You need to put concave insert bars or change the concave bars in the first two replaceable sections at the front of the rotor. Not sure why your Deere dealer never did this for you.

@@mississippifarmer4301 you can change the concave front portion with different grates and get a lot more capacity of the combine. You may have to ask around your area who sells them if your Deere dealer doesn’t do anything with them. But they make a huge difference in capacity and threshing.
