Wow what a great place to fly an RC glider.... nice.

I plan on building a remote control glider and add a flight computer that basically contains sensors and flies itself. In order to acheive that, I have to add some electronics (small computers and sensors etc). Do you think this plane has the capacity to fly decently with some extra weight or would that severely destroy its flying performance? I don't need to add batteries.
@EssentialRC8 жыл бұрын
No. It would be a terrible choice for that. There's no room inside it for any additional electronics. Better to chose a high wing trainer. Look for the Durafly Tundra on HobbyKing.com. That would be perfect and cheap. My review vid here... kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqq1pJp3aNlseqM Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

Essential RC Do you also have an option for a glider? I want to make it fly thermals :')
@EssentialRC8 жыл бұрын
Robert Yes. I think there is a glider version that comes without motor etc.
@kristofferrydquist83848 жыл бұрын
Robert: Weight would be no issue, its both light and stiff for a foamie. Very tight inside but you could use the canopy volume and carve space in the foam. Electronics need to be small and light though.

I know someone that did it with an Easystar and it was fully autonomous.

Hi beautiful fly..... The Expo Is on 100%?

No. I use 3 position rates and 30% expo on each rate

Great video can you tell me if this has foam hinges or normal ones ?
@EssentialRC5 жыл бұрын
Foam hinges Mark and after many flights they are in same condition.

Another quick question does it have the multiplex quick connectors on the wings for the servos ?
@EssentialRC5 жыл бұрын
No. Fairly sure it has regular servo connectors but you could make an easy mod.

what is the little ball bearing thing that came with the plane for?, just arrived took 10 minutes to assemble, beautiful aircraft, cant fly it until I change the end on the speed control to a deans connector.
@EssentialRC7 жыл бұрын
From memory it's for adding weight in the tail should you need it. I think the balance out the model if you use bigger battery packs. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

I'm looking for an SPM file for this beauty. My transmitter is a DX9 and would like to exploit all the features of this magnificent sailplane.
@EssentialRC3 жыл бұрын
Why? Just program it. Takes 2-3 minutes tops. Don't over-engineer it. It doesn't need crow braking. Just flaps. So easy to program on a DX9.
@bazilikatoo3 жыл бұрын
@@EssentialRC Yes, you are right in saying not to over-engineer it. I got carried away from reading some reviews. They do very complicated mixing and modes like thermal, cruise and speed plus all aileron wing, crow using throttle stick etc etc. Prob I will stick to normal config and stop there.

Agree. Go simple to start with. Probably all you need

@@EssentialRC Hi there, apologies for the "newbie" question, I take it I could use a Spektrum NX8 with the Heron, despite the fact it's a Multiplex glider? Cheers! Stay safe. 👍🏻
@EssentialRC3 жыл бұрын
@@EssexCountyPhoto This glider does not come with a receiver so you can use whatever radio system you want. You will need to get a Spektrum DSMX receiver and put it in the glider connecting up all the servo leads into it as required. I suspect you will need at least a 7 channel receiver. You will need to Y lead the ailerons together but have each flap servo go into separate channels. Good luck.

Easy to fly for a complete beginner 😕 get real, that's unfair to any kid who is going to crash his first plane in a heart beat.

Don't think so. Gliders are a good first step to learning RC. Give the noob the transmitter when the glider is up with with low rates and power off and they can learn the basics of stick control no problem. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)
