In this video, I teach you how to multiply exponents that have different bases AND different exponents (powers). I also teach you an uncommon rule that allows you to flip the exponents to simplify the problem.
There are a couple playlists attached at the end of the video if you need help with any other topics.
If you have any questions, please leave them in the comment section below! Also, if you find the videos helpful, please like, share, and subscribe!

Another way we can solve exponents is by splitting them up. Here an example: kzbin.infobDhJuZUwYUw?si=jXgKY1wV_ut-2VIw For your specific problem, we can split it up like this: 6⁴ x 8³ 6 x 6³ x 8³ 6 x (6x8)³ 6 x (48)³ This is about as simplified as we can write it, but you could plug it into your calculator to get a final answer: 6 x 110,592 = 663,552 👍

(8x-²) (9x²)
@Eat_Pi
@Eat_Pi Жыл бұрын
First thing you notice is the negative exponent. Negative exponent flips the number into a fraction. So: 8x-² = 1/8x² When you flip it into a fraction, make sure to turn the exponent POSITIVE. So the real problem is 1/8x² * 9x² To multiply Fractions, just multiply straight across. So on top we have: 1*9x² = 9x² On the bottom we just have 8x² So the complete fraction is: 9x²/8x² Notice we have an x² on the top and bottom, so they cancel out. So all we're left with is 9/8 That's the final answer 👍 Hope that helps!

If you're going to calculate 54^2, you might as well just calculate, without reducing, 2^2 x 9^3 to begin with. I mean, this technique really doesn't simplify the math, if one wants a final number.

But why switch the 9^3 to the 3 NM I think I got it your making the exponent the same. 😂. Bad math mom here 😅
@Eat_Pi
@Eat_Pi 9 ай бұрын
LOL No worries! All I'm doing is rearranging the exponents a bit to simplify the problem. When solving exponent problems, you want to match up either the bases or exponents. In this example, the bases are 2 and 9. They dont divide evenly into one another so we cant match them up. So instead, i tried matching up the exponents. 2² is already very simplified so I cant really break it down in any way and rewrite it. However. We can re-write 9³, specifically as (3²)³, because that way we can match up the '2's as an exponent on both numbers. I hope that helps but please let me know if you still have questions! 👍

2, 5, and 7 are all prime numbers so there's no real clean way to simply it since prime numbers are only divisible by 1 and themselves.

You're right, but I never said it was. I said they're both equal to 3⁶. And since they're both equal to 3⁶, we can move their exponents around 👍
