What a great comment! You're so right! You can watch as a review, and-bonus- you can play it faster to get through it quicker, as long as it IS just a review. So much more effective a use of everyone's time than the teacher having to drag the whole class through an in-class board-review, where people get their minds on at different speeds. If everyone did this, they can go at their own pace BEFORE the class, then everyone will be revved up and ready to roll at the start of the class. I like the way you think, Frosting Frog! 🤗😉😃💕

Lots of people. The teachers are not available to teach you as they normally would, but these videos are. Use the time, acquire the skill and knowledge. Being strong on factors and mixed numbers is a predictor if high school math success. Learn it well, this stuff will be your ally later on.

@@Radio_Ghost I'm really pleased they help. After you've watched one, you always need to back it up with a bunch of practice. And on one like this, I suggest note-taking first (copying an example line for line, carefully), so you have something in front of you that can act like a model question. This will help when you are doing your own problems the teacher has set.

I do my best to make each one short, but move students forward enough so there’s a challenge, and they can rise to it, but not so much that it is too much for them. I am working on more. I have one to finish - Fractions to decimals (last part). Then I really want to get kids learning their tables. This has been out of fashion for some time. The kids who learn it by themselves are really strong in math while the kids who don’t, seem to feel lost and unequal to the math they have to do. That’s what I am seeing in classrooms (I am a supply teacher so I see a bunch of different classes). I want ALL kids to be confident and ready to have a crack at any math problem they are given. And I want them to succeed and feel strong in math. 🤗😃😉😎💕

Dunno. But if what I'm doing helps you, and lots of others too, I'm happy. I'd be happIER with a million, of course, but that's not the goal here. The point is to get students of ALL ages to succeed with their math. That success will echo throughout their entire life, opening doors to courses and careers that without the math, they just wouldn't be able to pursue. And the self-confidence that succeeding in math actually brings will impact them in ways they won't even realise. Can we do it? YES! We can!

No I didn’t make a vid with whole number x fraction, though perhaps I should. It’s very easy: to turn any whole number into a fraction, you just put it over a denominator of 1, and continue as if it were a fraction. Super-easy, isn’t it?😉😃😎

If I'm on and I see them come in, I do this... If I see it later, I do it then. Isn't that the point of sending a note to someone? That you connect? For me, when I send a note to a creator I love it when they reply, but I will say that I agree with you. More often than not, you never get a reply. It makes you feel kind of invisible and not important. I don't think anyone should feel like that. Oh yeah, plus I type really fast, so it's super-easy for me to riff off a reply as I think it. :o)

Hi Chase, don’t worry about this. It’s a normal part of learning. You watch it, think you’ve got it, do a few then it eludes you. T happens to me too. So you rewatch and each time it gets a bit further set in as part of you. With enough practice, it will be permanently in there. I use PowToon to make these videos. It is online animation/presentation software. It has a lot of graphics you can pick and place, but I make a lot of my own for each video. Save your artwork as a png and all will be wonderful. Use jpeg abs you’ll get a nasty white box behind it. So... png all the way! 😉😎🤗😃

Well I don't even want to go to school and I haven't even started college yet. So college is worse. And wouldn't it be scary to be a teacher? Just because students ask you easy questions and they expect you to answer it and you don't know it.

When you go to college, I hope you'll love it, because when you go, you are off to study something you really care about. That means you'll be really invested in doing the course, so you'll work hard to learn all you can. When we learn, we are doing the learning for our own benefit. I get that sometimes it feels like you're doing it for the teacher, but in fact, it's for yourself. The marks stick to you, not your teacher, so you might as well have something great go with you. I hope you'll agree. As for questions... of course students expect teachers to know answers, and for the most part we can answer anything you guys throw at us. But when we can't the right thing to do is to say we don't know, then we go and find out. Nobody knows EVERYthing. Always be learning, Shezia. It's for your own growth, and to be honest, it's actually quite fun to expand what we can do and who we can help. :o)
