- People are never wrong about what they want - Sell what the marketplace wants to buy, not what you want to sell. - People want to hear my story as to how my story makes their lives better. - Only sell what people desire to buy - Can help people desire to buy what I sell, if I figure out what their values are - Selling is uncovering the value of what I have to offer so well that people are happy to exchange their money for the value I have revealed. - Can't uncover value to someone till I understand what's valuable to that someone - find connections in ideas, and how to say it well. Steve Jobs: iPod is a 1000 songs in your pocket. - people want to buy an experience. Buy because of how that thing makes them feel. Tap into emotions. - Calling the product what it is can spoil selling the product. e.g don't sell Life insurance as it sounds. rather say something like: Life insurance is income replacement insurance for your family. making sure your loved ones are financially safe and sound even in your absence. -

The life insurance sell, it helped that you changed your tone of voice and you painted a visual with feeling. The part saving your spouse from having to hook up for support!
