Many chemical reactions have mechanisms that consist of multiple elementary steps. The energy profile for a multistep reaction can be used to compare the activation energies of the different steps and identify the rate-determining step. Um, not to get too critical, but in order to ensure the reaction moves to the generation of B + CD, doesn't the ending potential energy have to be below the beginning PE?

No because this is an endothermic reaction and thus it will occur with input of energy

I am 13 yrs old and I'm in the 7th grade and Iam taking college organic chemistry and chemistry lectures. And this was pretty simple!
