I played a ton of DCUO shortly after launch and quit for a few years, I recently got back into it again and OMG I had no clue what I was doing! So many changes and updates, gotta say it was pretty overwhelming trying to pick up where I left off. Thankfully I found your channel and your videos have been such a great help in figuring everything out again. I have been playing for 8 years on and off. Its like my "safe" game, because eventhough I know its not perfect I know that I will have fun. What I do is I start a new character and change my focus of gameplay. Like: Roleplaying, making an OP character, help new players, PvP (well more like waiting for PvP) or being rich. Overall if you are a new player just play however you want until level 30, then focus on something, belive me that you will have fun one way or another.

Give a quick answer for anyone who is thinking about playing it.. i played it sense it came out for a few years it was an amazing game i was really well known in the community and i was having a blast then they made an update where everythings about skill points and made it SUPER pay to win tried playing after that and well you just can’t compete with pay to win players.. i talked to alot of the top pvpers back then and they spent 2k-5k on the game to be good and that was years and years ago just to be decent the amount of money you gotta spend is insane.. my advice dont buy unless your looking to spend some SERIOUS cheddar on this game.. it went from a free to play super fun game to a pay to win of the highest level

You can also purchase one month of membership and become a legendary player, create characters with the powers that are unlocked and keep those characters with those powers after the membership expires. You will still have six character slots after the membership expires. 😁😉

I follow you and a few others that post DCUO content. I don't care for the DCUO hate channels, because to me if I don't like a game I don't play it, not play it and complain how much I hate playing it. But anyhow, even with the issues I do have with the game, like the lack of more alt friendly options, decisions made to stuff in the game that I just don't like, etc I can't help but still love it. The worlds, the abilities, just exploring Gotham and Metropolis and all the other worlds is fantastic, especially with your very own custom character and or even your version of a super hero or villain that you like. The customization options in this game, while limited in some areas, body, face. But the massive amount of styles available provides near endless amounts of options to customize your own look. You talked about flying in games and DCUO around the 18:10 mark, and yes DCUO does a great job with it, but I went back to Superman Returns a few days ago on the XBox 360 because I remembered I enjoyed the flying in that game. And yeah, it is awesome, the sense of speed in Superman Returns, breaking the sound barrier, heck you even hear people talking while at near max height, which makes sense for Superman. But yeah, it makes me wish flying in DCUO was that fast and cool. However, that is basically the best thing about that game lol. Anyhow thank you again for you continued content with the game. When did they change the character designs to match DC comics rebirth? I think part of why people really enjoyed this game was because it reminded them of DC before the New 52. Especially with Cassandra Cain as Batgirl and Tim Drake as Robin.

There’s a reason I stop playing the game and that’s because my combos weren’t working at all the only time they worked, is when I put on these gauntlets that can fire blast out of it like Iron Man but that’s it, once I took them off it’s just a simple one to punch. Been on and off for years, and the combat system is still on point. However, progression to get to elite content is frustrating due to artifact cap. Basically, you don't have capped arts, don't try it. Skill point gains are great, but anything over 600 is unnecessary due to diminishing returns, and Stat compounding. Accessing prior content due to weekly bonuses and zone content, acquiring skill points as a new player can be frustrating

What makes you still want to play this game? Not trying to be mean, just genuinely curious. I played on the Xbox server for years and I do understand that there is a sense of community there. But I switched to PS in the last year and it’s like completely absent, it would honestly take a lot of overhauling gameplay wise to make me want to play it anymore. I used to come back for community, but is either none existent on certain platforms or like on Xbox it just gets refreshed with a bunch of newbies every couple months(who then leave a couple months later) and the old heads that actually stay are 8/10 times toxic weirdos.

@@DCUOMultiverse Yeah it’s easy enough to avoid the weirdo’s, but what your left with is newbies who likely won’t stay long or playing by yourself. I love playing a Super-Hero aswell but it just gets mundane after awhile. If you don’t spend at least $20 a month your not really offered much if your a returning player, once you get max cr or max arts its pretty redundant. And yeah there’ll just be another episode at some point but why even bother? If you’ve got max cr once you’ve got it a million times. And new players usually don’t last long enough to really experience what the games got, or there stuck behind a mountain of pay walls. I just started new again on PS and they’ve really torn down the experience. You can’t even talk more than twice in any of the chats without being a member, it’s a bit absurd.

It is hard to go back to games where you cannot fly and... where fall damage is a thing. I often forget about fall damage when playing something else... oh, and needing to move around obstructions instead of over them 🤭 The movements on this game are really good, comfortable and smooth. 😁👍

What do I get over a free to play player, I see I have my 6 characters I made on release but other than that I don't really anything else. That is a Chroma material. Materials cover the entire piece of gear. But Chroma Materials have 3 different color Channels.

Personally I recommend not subbing and using that 15$ a month to just invest in things you want like powers, inventory or character slots. Mostly because if you decide to not sub because you play less or want to sub on another game or for w/e reason you lose access to slots over 6 and anything the sub unlocked pretty much. You could sub and make a character with a locked power and if its not over your 6 limit when you unsub you do still have access to that alt but I always look at a sub like it money your burning to get nothing and you lose everything on unsub where if you invest in unlocking the things a sub gets you then over time you can play this game almost like a sub when your actually sudo f2p.

I thought this was going to be a short video of someone just saying no. I just recently came back after a 4 year hiatus from DCUO. To me it is still just a wash, rinse, repeat game. The new stuff is great at first and then the devs continue to make you beat a dead horse until you dislike playing the game anymore. I've also seen videos where people are saying stuff like "If you happen to have two hundred dollars laying around you can get your artifact to 200 in no time." To me it has always been a rich mans game to play. I started playing at the end of 2011 and nothing has really changed except maybe the wallpaper, the drapes, and maybe a fresh coat of paint. It can be fun if you're in a raid with people that aren't pointing fingers at others for failing and having to start over. That usually happens because they don't understand some of the mechanics of the game. A tank isn't going to be able to keep anyone else from getting hit by adds or the boss even if you have two tanks. I'm sure there are people who'll say other wise, but either they're cheating or they're a DCUO Pro god of a tank and the same things can be said about healers healing, controllers giving power, and dps having a high damage output. I mainly now just do the events, solos, and open world boss fights where you don't have to listen to constant whining or crying from players that are used to being carried by pro players or cheaters. I've been back for about two months now and even this is getting boring because of the wash, rinse, and repeat style of the game. Not to mention you need to be willing to dump a ton of cash into the game if you want to be all up to date with high amount of skill points. It's like going to a job where I don't get paid and I have to pay them to do it. Basically, I just mess around now and see what's new and then move on to something else.

The lazy peon is one of the most accurate non biased KZbin that make are they worth it he may have at least 100 hours into the game idk personally but since your views on dcuo are different than his doesn’t mean he had misinformation he always puts a pros and cons list to me it seems like your video is very informative but also biased which isn’t bad but no reason to throw him under the bus it makes no sense. I'm not going to thumb ya down just I logged on a few days ago and allot of the changes seemed like DCUO stole them from Champions Online. So with that DCUO had one more strike that made me leave the game. The biggest was the introductions of certain characters that race swapped them for the sake of " diversity". But the biggest reason I left is the game; it felt nothing like what I loved about DCUO, so I went back to Champions online which I am happy with. DCUO even with the updates isn't appealing to me and most of the updates looked like they ripped em off of CO which SOE has done in the past. I know your going "SOE?!?" yeah Daybreaker is nothing more than SOE with a different name.

My PlayStation is unusable and redownloaded this on switch because i have nothing else to play, its been a couple years since i played it and i only ever got to like cp200 maybe so im scared if get back into it and invest a lot of time and potentially money that its going to die off randomly soon, i absolutely wanna hopp back in and get mutiple up to strength chatacters but i dont wanna invest all the time just to possibly lose it, is this game going to keep going for at least another year or two you think?

It will be here another year I am pretty sure of that. I would say 2 as well..... but... I don't want to mislead you. They seem to have a long term plan for DCUO... but I can't guarantee it. One thing is sure though.... someday...... hopefully many years from now.... we will lose everything. Hopefully it will be in 50 years?? Guess we will have to wait and see. ;)
