HYPOTHESIS: This is theoretical at best, but this sounds like something from Cosmic Protector Shadow's timeline. Hear me out. In the few live streams that he appeared in he's mentioned a few times that his universe's Sonic had become pretty much a god. Plus, I remember that Shadow said that his Sonic wore a cape too, and to top it off, the Shadow in that timeline is older than Modern Shadow.
