@Hulk1566 basically if someone is attacking you with the first or second hit in their jab combo but you hit them with an aerial attack or a special you won't both get hit only they will get hit. The jab moves will have the LOWEST priority of 1. While the other moves will have priority of 2 or 3 with 3 being the highest priority

@@Hulk1566 ramxenoc explained it pretty well but another thing to make note of is that for a LOT of characters, their best move to start combos with is almost always their jab attack, and jab attacks are generally have very big hitboxes in this game so they’re hard to avoid, which means sometimes games are just “try for jab, dodge, try for jab, dodge, jab jab, etc”. This change directly makes it safer to combat jabs instead of dodging, making the game less campy and more combative. It also rewards more unique and expressive gameplay as it’s now safer to start combos from different approaches, like aerial attacks, so you will start to see a lot more personality in the game imo.

Two main new changes I’m liking soo far is the ground teching and wall fatigue. Absolutely love those changes cause there’s been tons of matches where players camp on the ledge waiting for u to do something so glad that’s there. Overall these are welcome changes so hoping to see more to actually help the game.

The problem is, camping on the wall is one of your only options to even recover. They need a ledge to grab. It's a needed change for the lighter assassin cast absolutly, this destroys the slower characters recovery options though, making them even worse.

The tech shouldn't be automatic and just affect only ground bounces but wall bounces as well. You should be able to attempt a tech whenever your bounced

I think we did get it.. there just isn’t a pop up yet. I tried it in lab with Morty’s hammer spin or Banana guards dash, and it seems to not take as much damage the more you use it. there was also this Morty trying to KO me while spinning his hammer move over and over again I realise I was slowly not getting knockback as much as I was the first couple of times he was spamming it

If you don't know, during the time MultiVersus was offline, Player First Games were tasked to change the engine from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5. Now, as you may have guessed, that is extremely hard to do, so I guess stuff like the string and typos were left there, due to being afterthoughts, basically

This is a huge step in the right direction! Now if only we could have universal blocking, that would make for greater defensive options. Dodging isn't enough especially when it comes to movement where it's shorter and isn't as effective once it runs out. At least from my experience, I tend to have trouble escaping bad situations.

The dodge should be a purely defensive mechanic with a very long recovery but large distance that it covers, however the DASH mechanic should be the aggressive/fast movement mechanic without any invincibility that allows you to cancel it into an attack.

There's a lot of good here. I love the autoteching for the sake of pre-emptively nerfing unintended infinites any characters may have in the future, and while I don't agree with jab priority being taken away (as jab is conceptually supposed to be a fast, safe option WITH high priority; if you want to nerf it, it'd be better to nerf the reward you get off of it then being able to land it in the first place), I think the introduction of the new methods of movement can create a neutral environment where other moves might be deserving of having a higher level of priority. But the wall decay is a HUGE L. Trying to recover was already one of the most disadvantageous positions you can be in, and having one, or God forbid two, player(s) just camping ledge ready to invalidate whichever approach you took was so oppressive that being able to be patient and wait for a proper opening or mind game your opponent was one of the big pluses this game had over something like Smash for example. You could play more defensively when you were at a disadvantage and had more options available to you where you were at a critical juncture like that about to die, and perhaps even more importantly, because of how wall grabbing worked, you would either have time to observe your opponent's movements to choose to best option unless they made a risky gamble in an attempt to jump after you to not give you the time to do so. There's exceptions to this being good of course, I KNOW the stupid stuff Marvin can do jumping off wall and angling up air towards the stage over and over, but making a generally disadvantageous position like that even worse is not going to feel fun to play. Jumping up the wall was already significantly more time consuming then it was in the beta so ledge camping was already much easier for the on-stage player, and now this? Biiiiig ouch.

People would complain how the game felt slow with a less sense of priority after coming back from the beta. All of these changes, the game would feel significantly slower and have lesser manuverability, possibly adding another minute on average on fights will feel awkward to a lot of movesets. They're punishing us for dodge canceling when a lot of us use it for combos while punishing us for being thrown to a wall to wall guard. Ground autotech sounds very stupid. The game is incredibly slow. You can have enough time to process which direction a player may head and have the ability to still punish them by ground and, if not aerial. Due to it, allowing moves that hit horizontally to moves that hit vertically allows for new combos. It all adds up to lesser opportunities for lesser skilled players. I think this will benefit jason, iron giant, morty, and lebron. It could tear apart garnet and jake.

Great. Keep making it harder for characters without weapons/armor. Who did the heavier weight screw over? Batman. down to 3 stacks of weakness, who does this screw over? Batman? It may be SPECIFICALLY on the ground. So bouncing off up and side shields SHOULD still work fine. Just not stuck bouncing endlessly anymore. At least that's how I'm hoping it works with Steven's shields.

@CharTheChair Its gonna hurt him a ton because depending on the position you Neutral Air your opponent, they're going to bounce onto the ground. You can't use Down Air for the second hit of that combo without triggering a tech, and depending on the character you're fighting, they can punish you before you can use a follow up attack. They removed endless bouncing off of shields last patch. You can only bounce off of his shields 3 times before they disappear, so now his options for combos are limited even more now. You can't afford to whiff Neutral Air to be aggressive because you're going to get combod to hell and back. Steven's fastest active move is his Jab at Frame 12, which is stubby as all hell and can't reliability combo into Up Tilt like 98% of the cast can, and THAT JUST GOT WORSE BECAUSE NOW EVERYTHING THAT ISNT A JAB BEATS IT OUT. Just let me enjoy playing my character without him getting the Velma treatment because Smash Veterans have PTSD from funny block man spawning platforms.

I like that ground teching is a thing now, but making it trigger automatically after being ground bounced twice just seems like a bizarre twist on what's usually a pretty straightforward mechanic in platform fighters. I thought that if they ever introduced teching into the game, they would make it function similarly to Smash where you input dodge as you hit the ground/wall to activate the tech. And I figured they would make it cost some dodge meter in order to give it a tradeoff and not make ground bounce combos obsolete. In my opinion, making the tech trigger automatically removes agency from both the player doing the combo and the player being combo'd. The player doing the combo is no longer able to do ANY combos with more than one ground bounce, which restricts combo freedom and player expression, and the player being combo'd is now forced to tech on the 2nd bounce in a combo which might put them in a position they didn't want to be in. All in all, auto tech feels less like a new and interesting defensive mechanic and more like an attempted "solution" to long combos.

I feel like the auto tech is a good opportunity for newer players and to prevent any infinites that can't be escaped, In the future, they might allow an extra bounce before the auto tech for more expression, but this game is a mess and a normal teching system might be a bit absurd for this type of game, perhaps making it where the auto tech happens later on but allowing manual teching situations earlier might help

@@08diegobc I disagree I think it’s really helpful for pesky combos that keep you on the ground which can help against characters like bugs bunny and jake ( I mean do you see what bugs bunny players due to The iron giant players it’s crazy ) but yeah it’s a ground combo it’s a literally near impossible to escape it

Forced teching is way too hand holdy, make it a command. And losing specials from wall fatigue is a huge nerf to heavy characters, give us a ledge to grab so we can actually get back on stage. We spam on the wall right because it's the only option to get back on.
