This is the story of three white British women that have decided to convert to Islam. After the terrorist attacks on the United States, these women could not have chosen a more difficult time to become Muslims but they are 100% committed to their cause. The film examines why these women have chosen to convert to Islam and the issues they have faced on the road to conversion.

Why couldn't Amy just decide NOT to go out and get drunk ? Are there only two choices in life --- get drunk or become a Muslim ?? That attitude shows very little imagination about life -- it's a life style choice for Amy , I think, rather than a religious faith .
@pascal7449

Gill It's not just about getting drunk it's more than that, it's about fiding the truth if you don't question the purpose of your existence , intellect & everything else then you really aren't living....this life is merely a test a harsh one too and not meant to be the final destination...u can think all you want by yourself but the reason people become Muslims because they understand that their existence in more than just a coincidence and they have a responsibility towards the Creator.
@gillsladdin6868

Reu to Pascal . Yes, I know that a d I agree with what you say . BUT ,it seemed to me that Amy thought there were only 2 choices --- the low life pattern of going out and and getting drunk --- or , the other extreme , Islam . Why not Christianity , as she must be in an environment where there that's an option? And that lies at the basis of the culture of this country --- the good parts of this country , that is . But she seemed to me to have gone for the NOVELTY of the other end of the spectrum . I hope the novelty won't wear off , for her , when she bumps into the more unpleasant side of Islam .
@pascal7449
@pascal7449 2 жыл бұрын
@@gillsladdin6868 each person has to go through their own journey in life and it won't be all glamours because that's not what it meant to be. this is a test not the final destination. Her choices are based on her reasons and conviction you can't say why this or that. I mean we're complex beings with more than what's in the surface, so for her to pick a different shade of the spectrum is an indication that she's not afraid like the others and it doesn't matter if she bumps to this or that, i it's what she wants to achieve in this life & hereafter..in the end you're not going to live her life but she will.

It’s so interesting that the introductory sentence of this documentary sets the notion that Islam strips a female from being free and modern. But then the narrator goes onto the next sentence where she explains that she doesn’t know much about Islam. So wouldn’t it be more sensible to educate yourself on something you are ignorant in rather than making a clueless statement based on preconceived notions.

I was born in Buddhist family and converted to Christian when I was 13. At first it’s a shocker to my family but after awhile they kinda ok with it. Now I’m married to my husband who is Muslim and we have one amazing kid. My husband doesn’t have a problem with me being Christian because we respect each other religion and point of view. We also talk about what religion my daughter will have and we kinda leave it up to her. We make sure we answer her questions regards to it and bought her age appropriate Bible & Quran for her better understanding. We as a family still hang out with our parents and attend their religious ceremonies. We all live in this harmony, we valued the loves and time.

@ADot-sc8zd
@ADot-sc8zd 5 жыл бұрын
Dark Matter no of course not. I think that part of her segment she was trying to kill some misconceptions people may have of Muslim men towards the women especially on the topic of freedom. She is trying to point out that we can and are allowed to do all of this. Because these misconceptions do exist. To go back to your first post you said something in the lines of she can because she lives in a free land ( can't scroll back up whilst typing so I'm paraphrasing). Thing is when something is considered haram to a Muslim, let's say eating pork then a Muslim living in the UK or Saudi Arabia won't touch pork.. regardless of the freedom that the country has pork in the stores. But in regards to for example a woman is not allowed to drive in Saudi Arabia but you see a Muslim woman driving in the UK then this is clearly the freedom she has in the UK and not because her religion doesn't allow her to drive. This then becomes a cultural issue Saudi Arabia has and many topics especially in regards to women point to that direction but the religion gets the blame for it. I hope you sort of understood what I'm trying to say. Yes, the West gives muslims the freedom to practice their religion.

there's a difference between Islam and Islamic nations. It's naive and stupid to think that politics wont play into religion and won't manipulate it to suit the politics of the Government who runs the country. It's also naive to assume that culture won't affect religious practices, especially when a lot of people in that country are illiterate and rely on corrupt religious leaders to define what they can and cant do

why is the comment section so negative? it also doesn't help that the person talking in the video sounds so negative sometimes... Yall talk about freedom of choice, freedom of speech but judge other's who follow their own beliefs? To be honest, I feel that if you haven't talked or read about any religion and UNDERSTOOD their religion as a WHOLE, we don't have any right of judging. What yall are basing off of is a PART of the religion without knowing what the entirety is. I've read/watched of the "Science of Islam" and honestly, it makes sense to me. If you've read the Quran, there was science, when science wasn't a thing and people would have had NO WAY of knowing until technology advanced. Idk... yall are also free to speak your mind but, I was always taught that if there wasn't anything nice to say, don't say it. I believe it should also translate to text.

Nur Efsan you should look into the case for Christianity that even the Qur'an says the gospel and Torah was revealed by god surah 3:3 if you are a Muslim you must believe no one can alter his words surah 6:115. I believe Muhammed decieved people and revealed things from the devil which many early Muslims sources say he did like the history of al-tabari which means he is a false prophet according to the law of moses. Deuteronomy 18:20. If you look closely at the facts it is clear Muhammed was not really a true prophet but instead perverted scripture mixing in pagan myths that are simply untrue. Such as surah 18:86 which claims the sun sets in a pool of muddy water

I don't think Islam is compatible with the West and nor do they think that by and large.

The main problem with Islam is that it hey focus too much on Allah and not on people. The religion teaches that everything you do is in service of God so Muslims can become almost selfish as they strive to not make the world a better place but only to be narrow minded and do whatever might please Allah and that leads to people blowing themselves up and thinking their making God happy when they're missing the point completely. True sanctity and divinity is found in the world around you: in every person, in every aspect of nature, in every discovery etc. It is only when we respect and love the world can we truly understand the concept of a god.

I sort of wish they had interviewd a woman that was less of a nutjob, seriously. There are many people who convert to islam, but do not abide to sharia law, or in general, are decent people who don't want others to see MURDERED. What is wrong with you?? Who are you to judge people and what they do in their personal relationship?

um no. shariah doesn't actually want to see people murdered. infact every Muslim should want to be ruled by the Shariah, but if you find yourself in a country that doesn't, you follow the laws of the said country, as long as it doesnt stop you from practicing your religion in any way.

All I got to say is any religion that talks negative of any other religion and states that there is only one God is a absolutely horrible and vile religion that's based on corruption and gaining more followers and just scares people in society to believe archaic bizarre and brainwashed beliefs that make no sense in the modern age but that's what Muslims want as you state they want to live under Sharia so maybe they should leave UK and all the other countries that welcome them and go back to the countries that they want to live under because when we go to those countries we have to follow these archaic laws

I think there's a big attraction to joining a minority and choosing a distinct identity . I haven't heard much so far about faith and belief as such . It's more about being attracted to this framework and structured life . But where is the spiritual content to their decision ?
