Since this line is an extension of Line 7 & 7A , they should have named this line as 7B instead of 9 to avoid confusion. The further extension to Virar is again kept as Line 11 or 13 i guess instead of 7C. I don't get why the govt wants to complicate things more by adding more numbers that are not required.

It's really shameful that line 5,6,9 are close to completion yet no work started on crashed.. tax payers money going in drain

If contract is given to companies then it's their responsibility to complete the project's After allocation of projects completed then even if it is not completed in given time bound then it is not going to cost for common public

@@kirannnnnn bhai already millions invested in these lines other works, which garner interest. Imagine civil work finished and the metro waiting for a car shed for 2-3 yrs. Also loss of opportunity cost?

@arg7033 Your tax money is not paying for the interests incurred by metro projects trust me. About half of the project is funded by loans from JICA, Asian development bank and other development banks at ridiculously low interest rates. These interest charges are very affordable for the Maharashtra gov and they can pay it off right away today itself very easily even without their tax revenues if they want to. The other half of the funding for the metro is received from private firms like Reliance too aside from direct funding by the Maharashtra gov. Some stake of the metro is also fundings from the BMC too. The BMC itself is a governing body that the Maharashtra gov can utilize too. BMC alone is the richest municipal corporation of all of India. BMC has over 50,000 core just sitting in Fixed Deposits right now. Just to let you know, that's the sheer amount of extra spending power only BMC has. Every metro line ranges from around over 10,000 core to close to 40,000 core depending on various factors. The outsourcing of the funding is mainly to corporate with various entities to execute the project with minimum spending and technology transfers too. Megaprojects are a collaborative endeavor. Metro's aren't the only megaprojects the gov can plan for. The gov is reserving maximum amount of money for future mega projects too. Like the current concrete road upgrades, navi mumbai airport or the entire coastal road project. So really, believe me, that not a single paise of your tax money is being used to fund the metro project. Your tax money is most likely simply just part of the revenue for the Maharashtra gov to pay off salaries, etc. for normal government functioning. These mega projects being executed are the fruits of the Maharashtra government saving money for decades, the low interest loans from various entities and rich private sector of Mumbai. The middle class is not paying for these megaprojects, yet these megaprojects are being made to improve the quality of life for the middle class in the city. At best, your taxes are being collected to make even more fixed deposits that will fund future megaprojects. But it's not funding the current ones.

Line 9 does not need car shed. It will use the one at Charkop for its operations until the one in Dongri is finished. But line 6 car shed is nowhere to be seen.

Are they going to do something about beautification or going to leave all the debris just the way it is? Also are they going to make the stations closed or open? Open stations leak rain water from ceiling. Also on the platform during rains its very crowded and chaotic with all carrying umbrellas! The metro floor gets dirty.
