Mbumbo can you clarity the coolant VS water issue what actually goes into the expansion bottle. I have a 1.2 Kia and and 1.5t haval and they both use coolant

I have a similar noise on my 2008 polo 9n classic. Was told it’s the aircon compressor but could it also be the tensioner?

What damage can the tensioner cause to the engine

From what I know it can cease causing the belt to snap.. With it snapping, the alternator will not be able to charge the battery up and also in some cars that use Hydraulic power steering the pump won't be able to pump Hydraulic oil therefore the steering will be hard like old cars without power steering. Lastly, some cars that use the v-belt to run the water pump could over heat and damage the engine should the tensioner cease and snap the belt. That's all I know there could be more.

Yoh, what a sure way to kill an engine by running it without oil. I wonder if you remove so many parts to remove just a serpentine belt, what more parts would you strip if that car had a cambelt. Could you not get just the replacement pulley/roller idler as compared to the whole tensioner since the defect is only the pulley/idler roller?
