I live in SEA, so most countries here are the same, people that do this kind of work will live or move to the capital city, that's why they're closer than JP, because compares to JP, they have a lot of big cities, so they might live in different cities, but in SEA, we all move to the capital city.

i think it also, unfortunately, is somewhat a result of holoMyth's debut. Myth basically created the 'culture' for holoEN, and since it was established and built for roughly 2 years during the pandemic, they were essentially forced to learn to be independant, solo operators, and that is the culture that was built from it. i don't think it was deliberate, it's just what happened. the fact that they are more distributed than JP and ID (form what i understand, multiple members of ID live close enough to drive to each others locations within a day) also discourages casual/unplanned collabs. and finally, Myth in particular and EN overall are very popular, and seem to be involved in a lot of official projects, which really doesn't leave them with many stretches of time now to arrange for any meetups except for 'on the job' when there isn't much time at all. basically a lot of things have aligned to force EN to be more independent and self sufficient whether they want to be or not

​@@testbug01 it's pretty similar actually. in general many teens of japanese moving out to big cities but mostly tokyo for job opportunity. however their culture and society behaviour factor also have a role. japanese are soo polite so they always try to keep a good impression. this politeness also create a gap in between. like they afraid to bothered others or afraid if the other offended over small action. my japanese friend said she feel freedom after she went out from japan. aquintance not always close to each other in japan. while I see it is different with ID branch. I know ID society from one of US general talking about their nation. he says that ID society basically bee-hive. a bee-hive society where they are close to each other even to a stranger, they treat them as family as long as they respect them. in ID especially rural area, someone who lived 5 km from our house knows our names and family, everyone smiles even though they didn't know each other. the general said, since their bonds is soo strong, if one of them got attacked.. the offender will not againts a military forces alone but a whole nation went to war. at least that's what I know. I agreed with EN, they separated far from each other. only EN that their branch is not from specific country. someone suggested a France and Spain branches the other day.

I do get that. Bae lives in Australia. Kronii in Canada. Kiara in Europe. Calli in Japan. The others in differend states of the US. So it's harder for them to off-collab to like the ID girls where some live literally down the road of each other or the JP girls that live in the same appartment complex or walking distance like Choco and Mel does from Kanata, Polka and Nenechi.

HoloEN can recruit any person who can speak English fluently and because English is a global English so people from any country can join but Japan and Indonesia are different, I don't know if they have some strict like only recruiting Indonesian and Japanese people but easiest thing we can see is these languages are not popular like English so people that they mostly recruit are from the native countries

You might have a best friend that you think you'd be ok sharing a place together as roommates, but that is just such a major gap between seeing someone every so often and living under the same roof seeing them practically every day. Relationships would easily sour more than they would grow by living with people, the idea of this sort of Holohouse sounds cool but ultimately would not be a good idea. Same applies even if they lived in close proximity like in the same neighborhood or apartment building, plus we as fans have no idea about what their relationship is like with each other; we only see a glimpse into what they are actually like with each other that is also curated for content and making an entertaining stream.

EN being such a big branche when it comes to actual distance, I don't see how this could be improved. For JP, they are really lucky they're all, if not then most, located in Tokyo and can meet up easily and see one another at the office. Even adding an overseas office for EN would not fix the problem. First where will you put the office? NA is so immensely massive, and then you have the outliers like Bae, Irys/Calli and Kiara. Unless they live in like for example LA (just an example) together, I don't really see a good solution. (Streamer houses tend to be a terrible plan) Even if we were to get 5 more EN groups it still doesn't change the fact that EN is literally Europe + North America + Australia + Japan. I mean damn, if everyone in EN was from the US we would still struggle with it (Though less than what it is now). Hopefully Hololive will find a way to circumvent this issue and manage to make it so that the girls see eachother more often for longer periods of time on a more steady basis. I absolutely loved it when everyone was in Japan this summer. So many fun stories, collabs and content came from it. I feel like EN is literally being held back because of their geographical problem. When they do collab and are with each other irl, they make for some real fun content, for example, just a little while ago the freaking bake off stream was hilarious

It might just be a problem we all have to just live with tbh. The logistics of having all of EN in one place when stuff like family, area familiarity, individual comfort, solo plans, etc. Are such determining factors for why everyone is where they are may just be too much to try to circumvent completely, let alone fix. The best way, it seems, is simply meeting up in Japan like they have been for the various projects they are a part of. That's about it. Not sure how you can get more consistent than that. Also, there's no Nina in Hololive. An extrovert willing to go the distance and bring people together regularly and unafraid of the logistics to do so. We'll never get any sort of consistent EN meetups without someone like that pushing everybody else besides JP office visits. The closest there is is Kiara but she's introverted and WILL stop at some point due to social battery drain, plus on the norm she waits for folks to reach out moreso than reach out herself (a common trait in Holo). It's just the way it is, but a problem non-problem like that can't be "fixed" without someone like a Nina, or a Kotoka, or a Mysta, in the roster.

This is an issue in general when it comes to America specifically and English speaking countries generally. Canada and America are HUGE countries and the logistics of organizing people from different parts of the country to meet up is already hard, combine that with English speaking countries across the world and it gets even bigger. If I remember right Japan is about as big as California and while it’d be a hard drive it would be impossible from people on different ends of that space to meet up, but that’s not true for EN.

@@SrMissileMonkey Nina also had an advantage that NijiEN up until Luxiem was a whole lot of Canadian talents (it was even a joke for a while that Niji hired all the Canadians that couldn't make it into Holo), and fairly close to each other too. Considering it was Nina, Elira, Enna, Millie and Rosemi who all either live in the same province or (more likely) different provinces but close to the borders of them to travel to and from each other within a reasonable time. Selen also being Canadian but on the other coast was a bit of an exception. Hell, Pomu, Fianana and Petra (before she moved to Japan) being Americans made them the exceptions, not the rule for NijiEN. Then Luxiem came along and things got a lot more spread out, plus Noctyx followed by Illuna, and so on (to the point Niji now has a bit of an unofficial Aussie branch too with Luca, Ren, Maria, Sonny..I think one other but I forget at this moment). Nina was still great getting people together though, plus she even worked with some in JP and (what was) ID too to open up EN. You can say a lot of things about Niji but if its done one thing better than Holo for its EN, its having their talents collab and work together more often and closer together, location and content wise. And to an extent it still does, even without Nina because she set an standard and expectation for it within NijiEN. Although with Mysta gone, another talent keen on networking and such, it might also take a big hit.

There are a few Holo talents that live within driving distance relatively speaking, but you wouldn't dare hear of them meeting up on a regular basis outside of special or otherwise, random occasions. Yeah Niji had it better because Niji had an active networker in Nina and Mysta to make those meetings happen and encourage others to do the same. And a natural extrovert to be able to be unapologetic about it. Sorry to say, but all of HololiveEN, is too nice and shy when it comes to interacting with each other. Despite how close everyone has gotten, that hasn't translated to more collabs between each other let alone off-stream meets outside of when people travel to Japan for work. And then the members lament not having more opportunities to meet irl. That's only because HoloEN is made up almost entirely of shy introverts (and in the case of mumei, just too shy) to the point a fellow introvert, Kiara, has to step up and be the "social introvert". Now.....I reckon that Nerissa and Bijou have the potential to finally break that stigma with how active they have been with collabing and more importantly, been excitedly pursuing collabs. They could be the ones to encourage the rest of EN to break out of their shells and setup more interactions. And considering Bijou and Rissa have already met IRL I could see at least Nerissa setting up irl meets in the future and being the pioneer or light beacon for EN. But as of now, this is a problem not solvable by current members since none of them are active extroverts to be forthright in doing so. Kiara is an introvert at heart so eventually she will burn out, and settle with who she likes; Calli _could_ do so, but she's too much of a workaholic to move her schedule around.

Ideally you're correct and those two will make the networking a bit better because like you said, Kiara's social introvert powers (and I say this as a fan of Kiara, she's tied with Shiori as my fav within HoloEN, and even just VTubers in general) have its limits and she needs to recharge by herself. (Luckily she's also someone who gets lots of energy in general from streaming like Kaela and Koyori so her solo streams never really suffer).

When it comes to this type of topic, geography plays a big role. In Japan, you can get to Tokyo in about 2-3 hours from most places. I guess most of the members of JP live around Tokyo area. I don't know about IDs, but since it's an island country, the sense of geography and transportation may be relatively close to Japan. Mumei is doing very well, the holodori performance is awesome.

An extrovert (or just someone) that is unafraid of the logistics and goes out of their way to plan hangouts and push others to do so as well. Without someone like that in the roster, this "problem" (only in quotes because it's not _that_ big a deal) will never be solved besides when they go to JP and hangout there. Kiara is the closest to that we got but she only steps up when socially needed, not because she wants to (like Nina). She would very much rather not be the one to lead conversations, and would rather be reached out towards, than reach out herself. It's not a bad thing ultimately, because we love the dynamic they have when they do meet up and those moments are special in their own right. It is, however, something that, without someone to actually bring people together consistently regardless of schedule, we all just have to live with.

Actually more EU would be easier to get around than NA, depending on the locations. Kiara with her EU passport can hop on a place in Austria and be in a major city in Italy within an hour and a half to like two and a half hours. Someone living in middle Canada (Ontario, Quebec) wanting to get to British Columbia would take a minimum 3-4 hours on the quickest flight, but likely takes more like 6 hours with stops and the price would definitely reflect that. Plus the fact the EU passport means if its the EU, its fine to just go about moving around. Even from the States to Canada can get messy but just because there are free trade agreements between the two doesn't mean border crossing is easy these days.

That's definitely one HUGE disadvantage the EN girls have. It's much harder for them to build strong bonds with each other simply because they live scattered all over the world. Where as JP girls AT MOST live a couple of hours away and ID girls live down the road from each other.

They could stay with working visa and rent apartment, but let's be real they want to save up money too for their 'retirement' plan Rent in downtown Japan not only expensive but also very limited to foreigners, no many landlords allow non-Japanese to stay in their property Not to mention the problem with income taxation, Japan is known to be extremely strict and expensive in that matter

No wonder Holo EN is so distant compared to Holo JP. They are all employed by Cover Corp and they can get a working VISA to work in japan as far as i know. But they chose to not do that.
