You can tell M&S has passion for their music. Going to a different country with a different culture and collaborating with a foreign singer is amazing. Baaba Maal's featuring is truly a beautiful blend of his Senegalese culture and the British/American Folk stylings of Marcus Mumford. This concert was played in South Africa, which of course carries much history of cultural divisions. Much can be said about the further cultural implications of the celebration of black and white coming together on stage in a former nation ravaged by Apartheid.

I don’t think it’s possible to watch this music video without feeling the power of music to unify and collaborate. I watched it this morning with my 8month old daughter. Music has the ability to transcend race, culture and politics. It dissolves prejudices and strengthens the bonds between us. Baaba Maal is a Senegalese singer and guitarist born in Podor on the Senegal river - on the face of it we couldn’t be further removed; geographically, culturally, linguistically- but when I hear him sing that gap instantly closes. We aren’t that different. I hear him perfectly. #BlackLivesMatter

Although I absolutely love the song, it’s not what makes this video so special. It isn’t the lyrics or their voices that gives me goose bumps, although they're both pretty incredible. The thing that makes this video so special is the way they bring it, the way they perform. If you watch this video and focus on their faces for a second, you can see that they enjoy it so much and that they just love being on stage sharing their music. I personally think that is something really important that every artist should have. It often happens that when artists get famous, that they get this attitude and forget what it’s all about. But that is absolutely not happening to them. That is one of the reasons they are so good in performing live and one of the main reasons I love them.
