how do you know that? I think wilder mind is the best mumford album ever, included the next one, the next two, the next three, etc.. who knows? I guess it's almost impossible to create a better album. This one is just perfect! And this song is perfect of course

And in time As one reminds the other of past A life lived much too fast to hold onto How am I losing you? A broken house Another dry month waiting for the rain And I had been resisting this decay I thought you'd do the same But this is all I ever was And this is all you came across those years ago Now you go too far Don't tell me that I've changed because that's not the truth And now I'm losing you Fragile sound The world outside just watches as we crawl Crawl towards a life of fragile lines And wasted time And so I cry As I hold you for the last time in this life This life I tried so hard to give to you What would you have me do? But this is all I ever was And this is all you came across those years ago Now you go too far Don't tell me that I've changed because that's not the truth And now I'm losing you Where I used to end was where you start You were the only one And now I see your eyes move too fast You were the only one Careful hands And wandering without that much to say Your words are empty as the bed we made Is there another way? Oh love, is there another way? But this is all I ever was And this is all you came across those years ago Now you go too far Don't tell me that I've changed because that's not the truth And now I'm losing you And now I'm losing you

Kind of weird, but I had been in a new relationship for almost three years in 2015 (almost ten years together by now) and this song hit me like a bomb and somehow I was able to finally come to terms and make peace with the relationship before that ended almost four years after this song was released. I still love listening to the song today, especially this live recording. 😊

Every stringed instrument player has a certain voice which is expressed through their playing. No one in Mumford and Sons is suited to make a comment in the canon of electric guitar playing as well as they are suited to play emotive acoustic stadium rock. Mark my words, this album will be remembered as a tangent. The casual fans didn't know they would miss it until it was gone. And this album is not as resonant as their previous stuff. I respect their choice as artists especially given the unprecedented 'sellout and go acoustic' trend that they started, but whats unfortunate is that in spite of what music has done at large around them, this band of four people still makes their best sum when they have acoustic instruments.
@MBfromNL9 жыл бұрын
***** "Resonant" is as subjective an indicator as any. What you don't consider a "resonant" album the next listener will disagree 100%. This album sits just fine in their catalog of work, featuring some of Marcus Mumford's best lyric work (again, a subjective opinion), and real fans will appreciate this album as much as any other.
@davidjmckinney9 жыл бұрын
That is fair to say.
@gideonkerr8418 жыл бұрын
I loved their acoustic stuff. However I think Wilder Mind is bigger and better than Babel and Sigh No More. I think that they've broken through and are voicing their art in the most expressive way that they can. Let them grow. Its not up to us to decide what their voice is.

David Mckinney I think they're better with a acustic but the bare bones song writing is still amazing.

How'd this song get its name??
@rossflynn44288 жыл бұрын
+Conn Guy Simple Wiki Search....The title of the song stems from Ditmas Park, Brooklyn in New York City; The band recorded the song in that area. Ditmas Park was also the location of the studio of The National's guitarist, Aaron Dessner, where most of the album was recorded.[2] The song is a representation of the change in the band's sound, most noticeably less usage of the banjo and more utilization of electric instruments. The song can be described as a break-up song.[
