Most notable difference is that Marcus says "Rape yourself" instead of "Rake yourself" (which he says in Sigh No More). There's some vinyl static in here since it's recorded off my record player. Hard to find a Mint copy, especially for less than over half a grand. But this is, at least, the original version.

The word rape in this context means to seize, take, or carry off by force, which makes sense considering the next line is "take all the courage you have left". They later changed it because it would be misunderstood constantly and found too offensive.

@@LeeAndersonMusic I always thought that "rape" fits the gravity of the song better but yeah, it could be misconstrued as offensive. My brain autofills "rape" in even when it's "rake", actually

I defo prefer the seriousness of the original words word, but after it became such a popular song I get why they changed it

It's almost a live version with a little less harmonies, love the younger much cleaner yet distorted vocals, very cool, love this lost demo stuff, thanks for sharing!

It actually might be live. These EPs were produced by Ben and had Artwork done by Winston, not a fancy company or anything. The back of the sleeve says this was recorded in Ben's parents' seaside cottage. This was released November 3, 2008 and I've seen videos of them play the song in September 2008 so it's entirely possible that it's live, you might be right
