Kids show or not, this was really clever and fun to watch
@nixnightbird1384 жыл бұрын
That's the thing. Everyone on here keeps saying "kids show" when the whole POINT of the Muppet Show was Jim Henson and his company wanting to make television for adults AND children and get away from the "puppets are for kids" stigma. The Muppet Show was never just a kids' show.

+BabyCharmander Watching as an adult, the humor, concept, and message behind it is absolutely brilliant! BUT as a small child, it would have frightened the hell out of me. I was an avid Muppet Show fan as a child(and still am), but for some reason-I missed this one or repressed it because I had no memory of this at all. Only saw it upon purchasing the first season on dvd. In watching their stuff now, their work is genius! They're actually going to be touring the US in January!

This is one of the few things I remember distinctly watching from the Muppet Show when I was a kid. I watched the Nickelodeon reruns back then. I don’t think I was old enough to fully understand just how brilliantly funny this group was. I was like many children and was a bit creeped out by them. As an adult they to me are kind of like a primitive version of the Blue Man Group. So awesome!

When I was a kid, I remember feeling extremely uncomfortable when these weird clay faced humanoids just randomly appeared on one of my favorite shows. They didn't scare me per say but the way that looked combined with their lack of speech just unsettled the living crap out of me. In fact, this episode even gave me a disturbing dream revolving around the concept of bizarre episodes where a bunch of little realistic looking grey aliens randomly showed up on another one of my favorite shows back then (The Simpsons) and just awkwardly watched Homer drinking at Moe's Tavern.
