Isis' death is even more anti-climactic and pointless when you realize that ghosts are a thing in this universe. If that axe-head girl from the first movie can turn into a ghost, why didn't Isis? Or is there some magic nonsense I missed? Also love that neither Dixie nor Goner had any kind of regret or lasting sadness when she died. I thought Dixie and Isis were meant to be inseparable friends, and Goner joked about her dying and even straight-up CAUSED her death by being a jealous asshole. Why am I supposed to root for these characters again?

Anybody else wants to point out how difficult it is to see anything properly in the movie due to how little contrast there is in the visuals? It seemed like the colorist was forbidden from going even close from pure blacks and pure whites because someone thought it wouldn't be right for the tone of the movie. There's hardly any depth to the pictures in result and it's painful to even look at.

Wait did Dixie just go ghost at the end? Or at least go zombie? What even was the point of the movie since Dixie learned nothing, her mummy friend died, and her love interest betrayed her but didn't receive any reprecussions from that. I'm so confused by this movie. It would have been cool if she was able to visit the zombie world via her sleep or something, instead of everything being a dream. That way she can actually be in two worlds at once.

Goner appears to be Irish, at least regarding his accent. While Ulster-Scots (people who are part Scottish and part Northern-Irish) exist, there is a strong difference between Irish people and Scottish people. Also, I think Goner being a pirate was actually a mildly clever decision on the part of the film-makers, as famed pirate Grace O'Malley was Irish.
@elsie87577 жыл бұрын
Huh. I thought he sounded Scottish. :/ Also I think in the first movie he said something about being from England, so I suppose it's anyone's guess what the hell he actually is. And regardless, I'm pretty sure someone from _any_ of those places should have a better idea of what a gnome is than a girl who allegedly lived and died in ancient Egypt.

For something called "Mummy, I'm a Zombie", I'm surprised they didn't have the mummy chick up on the front of the box art Decided to look it up and it turns out Azoth has to do with Alchemy. The essence of transformation, in fact. Dunno why they never really explain that in either film, since I doubt the target audience is gonna know what Azoth is, let alone alchemy. It also didn't mention anything about controlling zombies. Slyph's are also fairy creatures, but from what I read, they're more creatures of air, so I dunno why that one turned into a rock. Or had a horn. Or was in a seagull's egg. In fact, why how did the Slyph egg get there? Also, apparently their eggs are meant to be small pearl-like objects. If this movie's going to use fantasy terms that aren't exactly mainstream, the least it could do is explain what they are. Also, why would a fire salamander want to be near any sort of body of water? Hell, how is the salamander managing to get away from goth girl's magical surfing tombstone? It just dips it tail in and suddenly it's acting like a motorboat. And lastly, what the hell is with some of the character's asses in this movie? It'd be one thing if it was just their asses, but it looks like the front of their bodies are also round. It looks really weird and kinda distracting. Reminds me of that princess chick from the Shatner Puss in Boots movie.
@Regfife7 жыл бұрын
The one smart thing this movie did was use the original "elementals", which were an alchemy thing. Gnomes for Earth, Undines for Water, Sylphs for Air, and Salamanders for Fire. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elemental Oh, and according to Genesis 40:19, the ancient Egyptians did hang their condemned.

{Azoth was considered to be a universal medication or universal solvent sought in alchemy. Similar to another alchemical idealized substance, alkahest, azoth was the aim, goal and vision of many alchemical works. Its symbol was the Caduceus. The term, while originally a term for an occult formula sought by alchemists much like the philosopher's stone, became a poetic word for the element mercury. The name is Medieval Latin, an alteration of azoc, being originally derived from the Arabic al-zā'būq, "the mercury".} Basically, it's not just any McGuffin, it's THE McGuffin!

It could be explained I suppose that it's strong light that kills zombies, and moonlight is too mild for them. But, again. Introduction scene to the pirate kid was in direct sun-light, so I wouldn't be surprised if the writers didn't think this through (Or maybe the animators screwed that up)

+BobSheaux This movie has a very simple and straightforward explanation: the creators had just gotten done with a Steam Sale, and they bought Ghost Master. No, really. The Elementals, the turning into rocks... That's a binding agent, by the way: they can't manifest on something that doesn't already contain their element, so when removed, they turn into a binding agent themselves like an embryonic cyst. In the game, you could only place certain ghosts in certain locations, but there was one who could drop a 'present' that would serve as a mobile haunting base. Salamanders could only haunt fireplaces or stoves, Earth Elementals could only haunt potted plants or the like, the Water ones could haunt bathrooms or sprinkler systems, that sort of thing. The whole thing sounds like Ghost Master, right down to the collecting. The creators probably got stuck on that thrice-accursed hospital level, too, which is why the hospital plays such a big part in the movie. Also, the salt thing... again, there are other interpretations. Let's just say Billy and Mandy were a lot more legit than people gave it credit for. And err... "Isis should not know this?" She doesn't. You say yourself it was a dream. One more thing: Bob, come on, I know the brony fandom scares people, but you had the perfect opportunity to put Captain Planet back to back with the good ole' Friendship Rainbow Laser of Death and you missed it.

They kill Isis unceremoniously, Gonner (or however you spell his name) betrays Dixie and is never heard from again, and Dixie herself doesn't want to get caught up in all this again. I wonder, maybe the creators made this as kind of a ritual of them moving on.

There's actually a a game that comes from japan and you gotta download it, where you have to collect four element spirits with the same names...Sylph, gnome, salamander, and undyne..

7:21 hold the phone.... is that.... the Human transmutation circle from Fullmetal Alchemist? (with a star added in the middle, because why not...) I don't know if thats a homage or a lame ripoff!!

Well, many, if not all the concepts from Fullmetal Alchemist date all the way back to Ancient Greece, so I don’t think we can fault the movie there.

I think it might have been interesting if the plot had Dixie questioning where or not the zombies were real.

I have many questions and complaints I watched and loved this movie when I was like six, so when did it come out Also I want more of Gonner and Dixie cause they didn’t have like any real relationship Also if this was supposedly a dream wouldn’t dixie’s mind want to know and see more about her love interest like dude And Dixie barely even seemed concerned about Isis Oof 👌🏻

7:48 So basically this takes place in the Once Upon A Time universe, since in that one dwarves DO hatch from eggs?
