Horehound is a plant in the mint family, I think, and it's very good for throats. I think it's one of the herbs in Ricola. My grandfather did, and I do, love them for the flavor. Also it's quite a pretty garden plant, grey leaves, a little bit like sage in its looks. The root is the part used for the extract, I think.
