In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. KZbin earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. I used to show the gifts as part of ' @The Chateau Diaries ' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. I hope that one of your gifts is to prostate cancer research. I've just finished my second round of prostate cancer radiation and am waiting for the results. I am so fortunate at 82 years of age that I'm still here. This insidious disease is on the rise and we need to address a cure or at least a recognition. Ah!!! The T-Shirt dress! I was pregnant in the 1990s twice! The long t-shirt dress was my teaching uniform during both pregnancies!!! The only picture I have of myself when 9 months along was in a black T-shirt dress with a hand painted watermelon slice on it in stylized purple and green. I had hand made matching watermelon earrings and permed hair and wore white Keds tennis shoes with Bobby socks. I wish I still had that whole ensemble. Hehehehe! 🍉 🍉 And oh my gosh when Steph leans over and kisses her Aunt on the cheek and then Tante holds and kisses Stephanie’s hand. The live the family has for each other. So precious! So blessed!!

I love these gift opening vlogs.Its just like Christmas every week. So many treasures.Such generosity.It used to take forever opening gifts on Christmas morning growing up because we would open up everything and read and share and appreciate our delight at each one.We only opened one at a time! We kept our strength up for these marathons by eating mini- sausage rolls fresh out of the oven in puff pastry and drinking oj then graduating to mimosas and champagne as we got older! The idea of giving back is fabulous. The joy of friendship and laughter. Had you thought a contacting a local school so the children could visit the chateau and gardens, maybe have a garden picnic afternoon tea. They could plant and pick things in the garden. I remember Stephanie saying as a little girl, she was inspired and wanted to live in a castle, its sharing that inspiration that we all love and enjoy with a younger generation. Stephanie, my suggestion for a cataract charity would be to look at the Fred Hollows Foundation NZ and read Fred’s story. His legacy has helped so many people in over 25 countries around the world. He was a truly charitable man and made sure his good works carried on after his death.

My recommendation for charity is THE FRED HOLLOWS FOUNDATION, which provides eye operations to people in The Third World. The film THE WOMEN is from 1939, an MGM film. It was supposed to be star role for Norma Shearer, but Joan Crawford stole the show with only 25 minutes screen time! She was magnificent! As, indeed, was Rosalind Russell. I also highly recommend the film. Thank you for the video!

My great Grandmother and grandmother crocheted lace edging on all their pillowcases, hankies with lace edging to match and many, many doilies. They taught me to knit at age 5 or 6 even though there were many holes where they shouldn’t be. Lovely gifts as usual, so many fun and beautiful things. 🥰🙋🏼‍♀️

The Women truly is a magnificent film! The hundreds of cast members are all women, and it has an ICONIC Joan Crawford exit line, said with a catty closed-mouthed smile: "And by the way, there's a name for you ladies but it isn't used in High Society... outside of a kennel. So long, ladies!" It really is a movie I think you guys would love, it's one of the best classic Hollywood comedies with beautiful period fashion!
