Early signs of pregnancy | Mumsnet

Think you might be pregnant? Caught yourself googling 'signs of pregnancy' yet? (We're just going to assume the answer to that is a resounding yes). Well, if you're finding yourself preoccupied by every twinge and pang, wondering if they mean anything, you're in luck. So that you know exactly what to look out for, we asked midwife Claire to give us the scoop on the early signs of pregnancy, from the obvious to the, frankly, pretty weird.
While some pregnancy symptoms are no-brainers (missed period, anyone?) we're willing to bet there are a few that you won't have known about. Why not see how many you can tick off?
While there's the classic missed period clue, there are also plenty of other fun ones that you could miss or just write off as something else. Implantation bleeding, implantation pain, a sore back, tiredness and being excessively thirsty are all early signs of pregnancy but could almost all be easily be mistaken for signs of your period arriving.
So, what symptom first tipped you off when you fell pregnant? We'd love to hear about your experiences in the comments below.

Hi I have had implantation and feeling nauseous in the morning and at night for almost 2 weeks i also have sore brests every now and again maby every other day and I keep feeling this urge to drink and my cervical mucus has doubled the consistency is cloudy and elastic like an egg white I have taken tests but all were negative i have taken them 48 hours after eachother I have a gp appointment tomorrow and I have no clue whats going on please could you reply asap thank you

The roll of the parent is to nurture, love,, provide safety in all aspects (emotional, physical spiritual intellectual mental) Guide and help the children grow to be healthy, posituve functioning adults.. You are not your child's "best friend." Your children aren't your "best friends." When your child is an adult you can be "best friends " You can still discipline and provide structure and "scold" children because sometimes they need scolding . That's how they learn or relearn. You then provide nurturing behaviors for them too. You don't hold things against them....they are children....they are still learning and growing. And discipline doesn't mean physical punishments it means discipline . Everyone used discipline in our lives at times (ie discipline self to go to work daily, start a project, do your talents, try new things and stick n with it, do things you don't like but must be done etc etc). DONT make your children your "best friends " that's not fair to them.go get a best friend whose an adult. Just live your child.

Its really difficult telling whether your pregnant with just these because they can also be signs and symptoms of other underlying issues. I learnt a lot from this video. I also suggested if you suspect your pregnant get tested to be really sure.

Hearing all these symptoms making me terrified. I've been feeling nauseated, but I'm not sure if it's morning sickness since I don't feel like I'm going throw up. Not even a single symptom I experience. June 21st had my last menstrual cycle, July 26th (today) I tested with my pregnancy kit...as simple as that I found my 2 lines in my kit...so women, pls don't worry if you don't have any of the common symptoms...your baby would not give any trouble so be happy and confident when you try to conceive ❤️

Dpo 4 - 10. I had all the weird symptoms, REALLY weird dreams/nightmares, sore boobs, headache, dizziness, only wanting to eat certain foods, very hot for no reason on and off, have a cold (sneezing alot), cramps for past 5 days straight, can feel wetness below, peeing alot, broken sleep, randomly upset yet I never cry in life, mood swings (irrational moodiness). At 6 dpo I got an extremely faint line At 8 dpo a clear very thin line At dpo a clear thick lighter than the test line I'm now day 11 and defo feel weird, but seems I got a BFP! Best of luck ladies!

I had gotten the birth control shot.. after the week my period was over.. The OBGYN also known as one of the midwife’s at the Gynecologist office diagnosed me with bacterial infection and yeast infection and prescribed my medicine for them both.. But she suggested the birth control shot to help regulate my period because my hormones were crazy and my period was way too strange!!! So I gotten that Depo shot and I’m maybe 2 or 3 weeks for it to finally get in my system, I was talking to her today because I started having some of these symptoms.. She said in a way it could be my body’s way of starting to get use to the shot and said in a way it could be my gallbladder, because I’ve been having pains in different places in my stomach.. and only today I had one pain in my upper back!! I’ve been nauseous and tired but I don’t sleep as much during the day but the other day I fell asleep 3 times watching tv on my bed! In a way I have baby fever in another way I want to wait til I’m December or January

Last year Dec I took the 2 month prevention injection and was supposed to go back for the second on Feb 15 but I didn't. April 9th my partner and I did the dance unprotected. I few days later I started my periods but they were lighter than usual, they lasted about 7 days. The next week I started I have tender breast and cramps. I figured it was too early for my periods to come back again. During the time I was cramping I notice a little blood with a lot of discharge. On the 27th of April I did a PT at 4:30 am it came back Negative. However, I still have tender breast (they are bigger and heavier) , nause and headaches. Today is the 4th of May. Thank you

So i haven't had a proper period this year (the last one stopped on 1st Jan) I was not worried because my period is always irregular and my cycle is longer than most people. AND on the first week of March I bleed for like two days which was also not very heavy but not too light that I had to wear pads. It stopped so early that I got worried and took some tests and it was negative. I am veery confused. No symptoms of pregnancy so far. My Girlfriend had regular periods, and bleeding for 5 days straight always. But recently, she only had 2 days of heavy bleeding (Dark Red). I’ve fallen asleep outside a few times, I’ve been short of breath, I’ve had the little cramps, I’ve been overly hot and had backache. Had a faint positive on a blue dye early result test yesterday (11dpo), which then changed to a negative on a pink dye pregnancy test that same night. My skin has broken out so bad and I have scabs and dry spots in my face 😭 the thirst too 🤦‍♀️ I’m probably pregnant. I hope so 😩✨

I had almost all of these but they were a lot earlier. For example, my boobs where sensitive a week after sex and became more sensitive as time went on. Then I had very different discharge that smelled different as well. During the begging of the week before I tested I was super tired EXTREMELY thirsty and I had headaches that just wouldn't go away. 3 days leading up to my BFP and 4 days before my missed period (I have a 32 day cycle) I was having cramps that were nothing like my period cramps and I was able to smell things a lot better. To my surprise I was actually further a long than I thought. Idk about ovulation, but I'm sure I ovulated early since I felt all this so early on.

I never really paid attention to signs of pregnancy till I had my tubal reversal in 2019! However I know that the signs I wanted to see so bad were also basic pre period signs and could end up just stressing me out, so I didn’t look for those I watched for odd changes in my body. I ended up pregnant very soon after the reversal procedure and the changes I caught were teeth sensitivity, pro longed sickness (cough lasted for like 4 weeks),itchy neck and chest especially inbetween my boobs, arm pits developed a 24 hr smell of what I can only describe of saline when you’re getting an IV, insane chapped lips I couldn’t seem to correct no matter how much chap stick I used and one pretty basic was I did have the implantation bleeding, however I though it was my period because of how much blood and clots I had, but it only lasted a day, so I after that and the other changes I gathered, I knew for sure I was pregnant. Now the story with actually confirming I was pregnant is just a whole other thing lol I just might have to do my own little story.
