I remember when the first movie came out , I was in elementary school promoting the movies as if I was a Promoter! Lol I’m 30 now and every generation has said this but today generation wouldn’t understand how the vibe was back in the 90’s early 2000! It's funny you asked about if we had a gay character growing up because Wizards of Waverly Place just made a little bit of noise because the creator revealed that Alex and this other character, Stevie, were definitely a gay relationship and would have been portrayed as such if it was a different time. It's hilarious because a lot of people be surprised by how prevalent LGBTQ+ culture is in today society when the simple truth is queer and trans people were always there and there was always a lot of us. We were either censored from not being represented in mainstream content or it wasn't safe for us to be out and proud. Raven is a really good example of that since she is THE Disney star and could only be open with her sexuality well after discarding her image of a Disney girl.
