Expanding the sound of and pushing pop music forward, trio of multi-instrumentalists, Muna takes us through the writing and instrumentation behind their smash single "Silk Chiffon" featuring Phoebe Bridgers. Shortly after the release in 2021 they opened up their mix session for us and shared some insight behind the production. Everything from working in their DAW of choice Ableton to double tracking acoustics, to how the electric guitars complement and respond to the lead vocal, why the Prophet is the most utilitarian synth, and their favorite chorus pedal, the Ibanez CS-9.
Watch the video for a track-by-track deconstruction of the song and to learn more about their creative production process.
Check out the rest of our conversation with Muna: www.guitarcenter.com/riffs/in...

friendly heads up naomi uses they/them pronouns :) but absolutely they're such a talented producer
@scottlucidi6476
@scottlucidi6476 Жыл бұрын
@@annelieseesparza I've decided I'm not going to if its "They/Their". It's too difficult to follow. Advances have been made so we can still all understand each others' prose. Pick one of these: Ze/hir Xe/xem Hy/hym and I'm good with it. They and Their are already taken, though. Those are PLURAL terms. But you do you! And Naomi can do Naomi!
@francescac.1843
@francescac.1843 Жыл бұрын
@@scottlucidi6476 They can also be used as a singular pronoun. For example: someone left their phone on the table. I'm sure you can get used to it with a little practice ;)
@annelieseesparza
@annelieseesparza Жыл бұрын
@@scottlucidi6476 I'm sure you can learn how to do it Scott... also, the singular they has been used since 1375 so it's not like it's brand new, grammatically speaking. But if you choose to ignore someone's preferred identity because you claim it's too hard, that's a shame
@scottlucidi6476
@scottlucidi6476 Жыл бұрын
@@francescac.1843 thats grammatically incorrect, tho. but it had been used incorrectly so often, it hsd become accepted. "his" is proper in that example. Im trying to be accepting, but Im drawing the line where it doesnt make sense. And they/their doesnt make sense to refer to a single individual. Pick a different pronoun and I'll roll with it!
