During the 2011 Semi Final, wicket of Abdul Razzaq - clean bowled with a leg cutter pitching on middle and taking offstump! Absolutely magical! Probably best wicket of the tournament. Go watch the highlights!

@AakashRaj Yes I remember that, for me it was actually the turning point in the world cup semi final. I remember somewhere in the month of October 2010 South Africa toured to Dubai to play against Pakistan in one ODI Razaq single handedly chased down the total which then seemed impossible. I had a sigh of relief when Munaf Patel got him out. Summer of 2011 was the best year for all proud Indian Fans like us 😊

I think talking about a cricketer like him makes the sport more approachable for mass. No background, no visual expression, no adverts, no guarantee n bayaanbaazi, just the sport. I still remember 2010-11 Ind tour of SA tour, where in one ODI Ind just scored a meager 190 odd runs and Munaf Patel got 3 crucial wickets to pull off that match and there was headline on all TV news channels " Munaf ka Munaafaa" because he bowled economically. 😊

I workout in a very simple gym here in Greater Noida and the simplicity of Munaf Patel is such that he comes in our gym and works out and trains guys like me and we all have fun together. Glad that i joined that gym and not the expensive and sophisticated one next to it.

In 2005, I saw him bowl at Eden during practice before a Ranji match. He was bowling at least 150+ kmph! The next day he dominated the headlines around these parts of the country as the Indian answer to the Rawalpindi express. But, if I remember correctly, he got injured before getting into the Indian team and then he could never recover his pace.

India's pace attack of Nehra, Munaf and Zaheer with all thier limitations conquered the world. I can remember during Pakistan innings in SF, commie were criticizing Dhoni for going with 3 pacers and picking on him for not choosing Ashwin ahead of any pacer, It was even visible on Dhoni's face that he was struggling with rotation of bowlers as Mohali pitch was slowing down as the match was progressing and India needed an another spinner apart from Yuvraj. Dhoni as usual came out of the challange with support from trio of Nehra-Zaheer-Munaf, specially Munaf and Nehra, they not only maintained line & length but managed to bowl slower bowls with dew on. MS even appreciated thier efforts in post match interview..

I remember reading about his performance in Vijay hazare trophy 9 BALL over which makes him famous That over summary was 1st two balls were bouncers clocked at 151/154 KMs the next 2 deliveries were wide legside again 154/153 k deliveries The next 2 deliveries were wicket taking delivery 1st one at caught behind by keeper , the next delivery at gully and other 3 deliveries 1 wide and 2 times he beats the batsman that 9 ball over he's bowling speed never went below 148k's
