@@krys8644 absolutely! Rap has lots of consciousness in its messages. I was implying the rap we hear nowadays from most of the mainstream has pretty much 0 of it. The old school stuff reigns supreme. Until they change what's being put out, raps reputation will be seen as poor unfortunately. Every time I hear a song it bums me out. The same sounds, the same beats and the same message about flexing and women. I miss the 90s rap.

Doesn’t need to, he’s profiting, I’d say he pockets after expenses 600 dollars a day. That’s his to keep just from the stand. I’d say he pockets 100 dollars a day from the barber shop. He makes enough to send 4 kids to college and has a Cadillac. I think he just does it to give him something to do, because he genuinely sounds like someone that loves feeding the community and engaging with them

In 2001 I went on a trip to NYC with my mom and grandmother, we went on a bus tour and I begged my mom to get out in Harlem so I could take pictures at the Apollo Theatre. The bus was supposed to come back to the stop every 30 mins, but when we got off the bus it never came back. My mom and grandmother were scared to death because all they ever heard about Harlem was how rough it was. But I'm telling you, as a 16 year old white Canadian kid, I met some of the nicest people in that hour, every shop I went into everyone welcomed me with a smile. To this day Harlem was one of my favorite parts of the entire trip because the people were so friendly. If I ever make it back, hopefully I can grab a burger from Mo!

Serving the poor en mass is a business model sadly lost on a lot of entrepreneurs/businesspeople now a days. Because even though doing so will turn a healthy profit, it won’t turn the obscene amount of profit that fleecing the middle class for every penny they’re worth does.
