Munchies

Күн бұрын

Keith Garrett of All Flavor No Grease sells his take on Mexican street food out of his food truck in South Central Los Angeles. He makes quesadillas, tacos, and burritos filled with chicken, steak, shrimp, or all three. Keith grew up in Watts, a neighborhood in South LA.
After selling weed for years, he used his entrepreneurial instincts to start a candy shop, which he morphed into a taco stand in front of his mom’s house before turning it into All Flavor No Grease.
Now, AFNG is a South LA institution that has been lauded by rappers like The Game, Problem, Bow Wow, and the late Nipsey Hussle. Keith’s inspiring journey to becoming a street food icon is one of the most memorable of the series.

He CLEARLY mentions both parents involvement in his life. Taught him how to cook and instilled morals in him. Nothing against mothers, but involved father's deserve credit where credit is due. Seems like today's society only likes to only give credit to mothers, when there's are millions upon millions of involved father's who also do their part but are rarely given credit for. Edit: had his father been alive, I'm pretty sure he would be in the video also.

I have to say, although he says it’s “Americanized Mexican food,” he uses ingredients that Northern Mexicans use in their tacos, burritos and quesadillas (except for that bag shredded cheese). And the cilantro salsa looks pretty close to authentic (they put that on fish/shrimp tacos in Baja). So he is pushing out some legit product. Maybe not “authentic authentic” but I bet it’s way better than the food they sell in American chain restaurants. Amazing!
