Omg, this version of the game is based on the 1st season series. In the anime, there is a part where charmander was abandonned and Ash use that charmander to defeat his ex-trainer's pokemon. One of the best moments that I've seen.

I've always felt special bonds with my Pokémon depending on how much time I spend with them. I don't know, I just look at it from both perspectives. Also, I'm a lot like Giselle. Actually Volt Tackle was in generation 3. Just wasn't widely recognised till 4th gen and I believe there was an event to get a Pikachu that can use Surf and Volt Tackle

Ash's Pikachu is supposed to be special, so that Pikachu is the only one who can uses Electric moves on a a Ground type successfully. Try catching another Electric type then using any Electric attack on a Ground Pokemon.
