This is really good, and this music is incredible.

Everything about this montage is Awesome!

Kim's routine is arguably the best in the whole montage. Many refuse to call Raducan anything other than AA champion, and her medal WAS taken away. Kim had no control over being made to compete underage. Let's all just appreciate how unbelievably amazing her routine is.

She was a beautiful bar worker sadly from a country that gave her absolutely no say in anything, absolutely correct- it is, even today a totalitarian country. In the case of Raducan, the doping scandal, while a justified reason to take away a medal should have resulted in severe consequences for her coaches and that team doctor. They put her in such an unfortunate and disappointing position and should have been punished for it.

Did Shannon Miller ever perform the double str8 off the bars with any lift?? stuck landings but always a bit flat I think......
@kras11812 жыл бұрын
Though she was found guilty of age falsification, her title was not taken away. Her country was not allowed to compete in 1993, but she is still the WC on bars from '91.

I wondered about that. It’s unfortunate her country forced that to happen. Not the first time I’ve heard of them doing that either sadly.

What happened in 2003? Khorkhina was there, and did a great performance...

Svetlana Khorkina failed to qualify in the Uneven Bars final in 2003 due to poor and unfair judging... :(
@saragrant9749 Жыл бұрын
@@lb7617 she failed to qualify because she made an ERROR in qualifying that lowered her score- the judges got it right. Get off your duff and go judge before slinging childish nonsense.

No, she never really got much lift. She had great skills for her era, but they never had much amplitude. Unfortunately I don't think she really adjusted her technique when the bars started moving apart.

2009 - He Kexin (CHN) 2010 - Elizabeth Tweddle (GBR) 2011 - Viktoria Komova (RUS) 2013 - Huang Huidan (CHN) 2014 - Yao Jinnan (CHN) 2015 - Fan Yilin (CHN), Viktoria Komova (RUS), Daria Spiridonova (RUS), and Madison Kocian (USA)
I'm not a huge fan either, but she did add the Ricna for the 2000 games.

I think the uneven bars competition this upcoming Worlds is going to be really deep. The roster is gonna be like He Kexin, Yang Yilin, Ksenia Semenova, and Beth Tweddle. The latter two adjusted their routines to surpass Yang and He's A scores.

Also, gosh, Courtney Kupets had a great swing. For me, her fantastic bar work was always overshadowed by her over-the-top cheesy FX choreography. That's what I always remember her by, lol

Oh, that video of Courtney was actually her qualification routine... in the event finals her landing was much better. And Chellsie Memmel just had a very difficulty dismount in combination and had a small hop forward :/

True, but blame the lack of competition as well, they werent good enough at the time to knock her off.....but I agree by the end she was defo overated on the apparatus and no longer 'unique' as she had been in 1996!

In 2002 was that the best they had? I didn't see the competition.
@saragrant9749 Жыл бұрын
Yes. Her bars was far and away the cleanest of that final. Khorkina fell TWICE (definitely uncharacteristic), at least two others had huge errors, several others badly missed handstands. Courtney was first up and basically the only one to really hit.
@QueenieQue15 жыл бұрын
Well, Nastia's only about 5'3", and Khorkina is a little over 5'5", so they're not exactly the same height. But you make great points about Khorkina--she had more drive than even most elite gymnasts.
@kras11812 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I would think if they took her title away, it would def go to the silver medalists! I've read consistently that she is still regarded as the champ by the FIG. I don't know why though.....maybe because they could never figure out her real age? lol
