Munich, Center 2023 - Germany 4k Travel Channel

Our tour of Munich's city center begins at Marienplatz, directly in front of the town hall. Numerous people have already gathered to see the Munich Glockenspiel (carillon).
It depicts two events in Munich's history. Firstly, the knights' games on the occasion of the wedding of Duke Wilhelm V to Renate of Lorraine in 1568, and then the Schäffler dance, which was performed by the barrel makers after the end of the plague epidemic, presumably in 1517, to cheer up the population and give them the courage to go out onto the streets again.
On the way to the 'Alter Hof", we noticed an electronic display in front of the Toy Museum showing the number of wind turbines built, approved, and required per year to achieve the climate targets. It is probably no coincidence that these figures are displayed in front of the Toy Museum.
In Burgstrasse, we pass the 'ehemalige Stadtschreiberei" ( former municipal clerk's office). The historic façade features architectural and illusion paintings typical of Bavaria.
The Alter Hof (Old Court) was the residence of the Dukes of Upper Bavaria from around 1255 and later of Bavaria. In between, it served Ludwig the Bavarian as an imperial residence.
Not far from Alter Hof is the Pfistermühle. The Pfistermühle was rebuilt in 1578 after a fire at the Hofmühle. Today, the building houses a gourmet restaurant. The Hofpfisterei is very popular in Munich and is represented by many branches. We also regularly order "Pfister Spezial" via the Internet.
Through Pfisterstrasse, we reach the Platzl, the square in front of the Hofbräuhaus. Beer was brewed here from 1607. Today, it only serves as a restaurant.
Opposite the Schrannenhalle is the Café Frischhut. It is famous for its nostalgic atmosphere and its lard pastries. These are prepared in an open kitchen. Incidentally, the café's nickname is Schmalznudel. In addition to the famous Schmalznudeln, known as Auszogne in Bavarian, you can enjoy delicious Rohrnudeln, Striezerl, and Krapfen.
St. Jakobs Platz is home to the Munich City Museum and several associated smaller museums, such as the Film Museum and the German Brewery Museum.
Also on St. Jakobs Platz is the Jewish Center with its synagogue and the Jewish Museum.
Via Oberanger we reach Sendlinger Straße. One of the things worth seeing here is the Asamkirche, both the façade and the magnificent interior. From here, the route continues to Sonnenstraße and Karlsplatz (Stachus). Via Neuhauser Straße and Ettstraße (known from the TV series "Münchner Tatort"), we come to Kaufingerstraße and back to the Rindermarkt.
The Rindermarkt, one of Munich's oldest streets, was once home to the cattle market. The Rindermarkt fountain with the sitting shepherd watching over three cattle is a reminder of this.

Unser Rundgang durch Münchens Zentrum beginnt am Marienplatz, unmittelbar vor dem Rathaus. Zahlreiche Menschen haben sich bereits versammelt um das Glockenspiel zu sehen.
Das Glockenspiel stellt zwei Ereignisse der Münchner Geschichte dar. Zuerst die Ritterspiele anlässlich der Hochzeit von Herzog Wilhelm V. mit Renate von Lothringen 1568, danach den Schäfflertanz der von den Fassmachern nach dem Ende der Pestepidemie vermutlich 1517 aufgeführt wurde, um die Bevölkerung aufzuheitern und ihr den Mut zu geben, wieder auf die Straßen zu gehen.
Auf dem Weg zum „Alten Hof“ bemerkten wir vor dem Spielzeugmuseum einen elektronische Anzeige die die Anzahl der gebauten und der genehmigten, sowie der notwendigen Windkraftwerke pro Jahr um die Klimaziele zu erreichen. Vermutlich ist es kein Zufall, dass diese Zahlen vor dem Spielzeugmuseum gezeigt werden.
In der Burgstraße passieren wir die ehemalige Stadtschreiberei. An der historischen Fassade befindet sich eine für Bayern typische Architektur- und Illusionsmalerei.
Der alte Hof war ab ca. 1255 die Residenz der Herzöge von Oberbayern und später von Bayern. Zwischendurch diente er Ludwig dem Bayern als Kaiserresidenz.
Unweit vom alten Hof ist die Pfistermühle. Die Pfistermühle wurde 1578 nach einem Brand der Hofmühle neu errichtet. Heute beherbergt das Gebäude ein Gourmetrestaurant. Die Hofpfisterei ist in München sehr beliebt und durch viele Filialen präsent. Auch wir bestellen regelmäßig „Pfister Spezial“ via Internet.
Durch die Pfisterstrasse erreichen wir das Platzl, den Platz vor dem Hofbräuhaus. Ab 1607 wurde hier Bier gebraut, heute dient es lediglich als Gaststätte.
Wir wechseln zum Viktualienmarkt. Hier finden wir eine uns vertraute Umgebung wieder. Es ist immer interessant zwischen den Marktständen spazieren zu gehen.
Gegenüber der Halle befindet sich das Café Frischhut. Es ist berühmt für seine nostalgische Atmosphäre und sein Schmalzgebäck. Dieses wird in einer offenen Küche zubereitet.

But is has only 24P and 25P. I think we have it already 7 or 8 years, so there should be better cameras availaible in the meantime. All the best and have a fantastic time!

Hi guys! sucha a beautiful city, I never been there. I loved the details of the automats like the clock in Prague. Very nice gothic architecture too. Nice video 🙌 I'd just preffer to listen the street with local noise of the markets, the torists and visitors instead music. Would be more deep visit. Cheers!
