I lived in Munich from 2019 to 2021, and as Daniela says, it is an *extremely* livable city. It's lovely; you can see the Alps from the high points! That said, the city is pretty touristed out, with endless lines of tour groups in the main downtown square, frankly. My favorite sights in Munich aren't necessarily downtown, because a lot of it is also reconstructed due to WWII. If you like churches, Maria Ramersdorf is a nice example of an original one just outside of downtown, as is the Wieskirche outside of town. Neuschwanstein and Augsburg are also 100% worth the trips, as is the Königsee. The Bavarian National Museum also demands a tour. The best food isn't at the Viktualienmarkt, which is also by local standards extremely expensive. For example, the best Weißwurst is probably at the Gaststätte Großmarkthalle. I also loved an Afghan restaurant near the train station called Hindukush, and Strada del Goethe makes some of the best Italian pizza you will eat in this life. If you like chocolate, Teuscher Chocolates has a shop there, and while the champagne truffles are expensive, they are pretty incredible. Oktoberfest also isn't much fun unless you have a large group with you; the food there is also extremely expensive. If you can catch it, the Auer Dult offers a better atmosphere. I've also actually made some pretty incredible antique finds there! I could go on... As an aside, the B-roll might need an update. I see some signs from 2002!
