Fun fact: Swirl pattern covered nose cones are solely for crew safety. Allowing them to know when a plane’s props are spinning. Which will allow them to stay out of the way.

@@PhoenixWr228 You can always play a bit of arcade. The header for aiming is fairly accurate to realistic battles. the only differences with aircraft in arcade are BR changes and overall preformance. So although you may need a little bit of adjustment it can aid. Also testflight in arcade in realistic can help you get a bearing for leading shots.

@lemonylemon2289 Oh noooooooooo, I was affraid somebody will write this. So, its all about getting used onto 30mils? I had weekend of suffering in 109 with 3x30mm. So I go back to 20mm. But, I already grinded 7.3 Me262 which doesnt have that option (20mm) so I felt it was just the skill issue. NOW, tell me WHAT SHALL I PAY ATTENTION THE MOST WHILE LEARNING. Whats the distance I start shooting? What ammo belt? Or is it just like with any other weapon in WT - PLAY AND YOU WILL LEARN? PS I really hope GAIJIN WILL ADD that option (ppl been asking for so long) SO WE CAN MANUALLY CHOOSE what rounds to put in those belts.

@@zorkatasic-ls1tv the 8.0 163 is the 20mm option. They won't add it at a lower br because the 20s are higher velocity and easier to use. While you're getting used to the 30s, use universal so you get the tracers. I used the thing to grind out the winter extreme mirage and I found the best settings were no gun convergence, no vertical targeting so you can make longer shots if needed but ideally you're in 400m or closer before you start shooting. Lead more than you think you need to because planes are fast at 7.3 and 30mm is slow. Try to conserve your ammo until you have a clear shot because you only have like 60 rounds per gun. The key to playing it is understanding how to use the rocket engine. If you're just cruising you can hold it at 40% and have way more time. Only throttle to 100 if you're doing the initial climb, trying to catch someone, or you need the acceleration. You want to burn down to 4:00 of fuel so you don't rip your wings in a dive. The 163 is one of the most maneuverable planes in the game and the rocket gives it obscene acceleration so don't be afraid to cut throttle to reverse people. But back to the 30s, you are an energy and turn fighting monster so just be patient and wait until you can get a really nice shot before firing. Against bombers like the B-29, go in fast and straight and lay into them at about 600m so you don't get 50caled. Climb to like 5000m initially because you have one of the best climb rates in the game and you can use the energy advantage to dictate fights. Watch out for Mig-15 and F-86s because they just got their br tuned down and you don't have the endurance or top speed to chase them.

Yeah, 30mm are great BUT you have to come closer than 400meters. Which means no more openning fire from 1,2km in head on encounters. I duno, 30mm are great against large target like bombers, small boats and so, BUT I prefer longer range AND there are only like 30rds per gun, and 70 rds in the nose gun. But Im not playing air RB but arcade, air RB requires too much time, taking off, your wings fall apart if you dont pay attention on speed etc. I mean, I concluded grinding planes is faster if you play arcade than other modes.
