Yea, he thinks things out that make sense, doesn't just react or be a fan-pundit. Not so common for rugby commentary, but, it works .

I’m a Leinster supporter and breaking the rivalry mode I’d love Munster to do well in Europe. They were incredibly gritty v Saracens & seem to be getting back to their best.
@redmondo4217 сағат бұрын
The last 20 minutes was a story of Leinster making life difficult for themselves. Mauls messed up, balls spilling out of rucks, silly infringements, R. Byrne missing an easy penalty, VDF getting held up. All so avoidable with cooler heads and better leadership. Not taking anything away from LR, but it should have been more comfortable. They got away with it this time, but that kind of mental wobble is exactly why they keep falling short in Europe.

One thing I found curious which is not connected to this podcast was R O'Connors' players ratings. He gave the kiwi full back Barrett an 8 for Leinster. I found this strange to say the least. In the various games of kick tennis that took place in the game we generally lost between 10-30 metres (most times), he was involved in alot of them. His returning of kicks with ball in hand never got past the 1st tackler and he seemed incapable of linking well with his wingers. I would not have given him an 8 If Leinster are to continue with this defensive style tactics their kicking game will need alot of improving.

Ratings are bollix. Who cares?
@Tellemore14 сағат бұрын

Agreed, Barrett looked cumbersome and slow on the turn at 15. His class will always get him through wherever he plays but 15 is not ideal for him

Osborne should have been at 15.

Leinster should play a game in Nowlan Park every year. They could definitely make it a thing fans from Kilkenny and neighbouring counties, and also Dublin based fans would buy into. A trip to Kilkenny every year. Lots of pubs, restaurants and hotels, so would be a great weekend. I know "real fans" should want to go to every game regardless etc. But novelty and variety is definitely appealing to fans. Look how many people turn up for a Leinster game in Croker, just because it is in Croker, like the Northampton game last year. The Premiershop seems to have got loads of buy-in for its special regular season games. Can't remember what they are called, but there are a few of them, and they get massive crowds. A game in O'Connor Park in Tullamore would be good too.

in reaction to the 'Leinster are harder to beat tagline', they are harder to score against but unless they attack better they are not harder to beat

Worth mentioning Skelton was missing and Atonio went off soon after it started. Those 2 are huge ball carriers and impact tacklers. Leinster will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season but their attack is fairly average.

I’m honestly not sure how the Leinster/LAR Match could be considered the game of the season so far. It was riddled with errors and came down to a couple of failures on both sides.
@papachinizo42 минут бұрын
I think LAR played above their potential, but they're just not the same team as 2-3 years ago; of the six meetings, that was probably the "easiest" win for Leinster. I still think this style of play is good for Leinster (they're keeping their cards close to their chests) - we all know Leinster can put 50+ points on any team, but that hasn't won them anything in the last 4 years...

Carries controlled game and I only started thinking we could win round about 60th min. As Saries didn't seem to be making the effort. Then 2 tries and conversion in off the upright. The rub of the green.

Dont know what JGP was doing with that overcooked cross kick. Even if it was on the money, there was cover there. He should have just passed to Furlong (I think it was him) and kept the play going.

Leinster has more clean line breaks in the game so they defended better and attacked better than La Rochelle.
