I tried this redirect and really like it. The only downside that I see is that it takes a fair amount of rope to do the retrieval, which can be a problem. Did you invent this one JB? I will be teaching it to my students and want to make sure I give credit where credit is due.

I didn't learn it. So … maybe I "invented" it for myself. But, "There's nothing new under the sun." … so they say. It's probably older that dirt … like me 🤣

Good to hear from you. After trying many different types of retrievable redirects I think I like the SCAM redirect the best. But in my line of work (mainly conifers) I rarely have need of any of them. So I mostly just use them for teaching purposes in the big oaks where I teach new climbers. Cheers from Oregon!

What are you using on your hitch I heard Richard Mumford mention it in one of his videos and searched all of videos but I can't find anything that mention rubber tubing. What type, it purpose etc?
