Muntjac hunting in England | Two deer in two days | Proving the effectiveness of our lead free Ammo

We flew to England to hunt one of the most recognizable deer species - the Muntjac. The small deer is not native to England and therefore basically hunted all year. They have a very distinctive look due to their unique one point antlers and vampire like teeth.
Lead free ammunition becomes more and more important in the UK due to the fact that game dealers across the country are only buying game that has been shot with lead free ammo. We wanted to prove with this video that our Ecostrike is a highly affective lead free bullet and a true alternative to lead. The first Muntjac was shot at close distance to approx. 60-80 meters. The second - older Muntjac was taken from over 180 meters. The shot placement was a little too far behind and hit the liver. Nevertheless was the distance from the point of strike to the dead Muntjac not more that 40 meters. All game in the video was taken with the Norma Ecostrike .308. Congrats. Most intresting n impressive..looks like a good bullets. Esp after them small deer there.. I would have thought a smaller caliber might have been used..

Thank you very much! .308 is a great caliber for smaller deer bc it’s relatively slow traveling in comparison tongue faster brothers like .243 or .223. High velocities can cause high trauma on the meat which results in significant meat loss. .308 was a great choice. Good hunting 🌿

Seems like "treeoooohate" be a bit heavy for muntjac deer I'd think a .17hmr or .22mag be just as effective I have personally taken whitetail deer with .22mag and if you make a good shot they dont get far

Luckily illegal everywhere! Bad shots always have to be taken in consideration - therefore a certain energy of your hunting round is required!

@@SHHuntingMedia right I never said the .22mag was ideal but will work in a pinch and for muntjac more than enough, but 308 is great for whitetail the area they where hunting seems to be brushie and I thought a .30/30 would be perfect

using a.308 on a deer the size of a baby goat.. Gross overkill. I like Norma projectiles and love the Oryx ( in 7mm and 6.5 ) but only shoot Reds with them as anything smaller is overkill.

Thank you for your comment Lyell Clare. The .308 Norma Ecostrike is a well balanced bullet. Skinning the deer right after the shot showed no trauma or bruises and 99% of the meat was used. Smaller bullets - to a certain extent- are coming with an increase of speed. High speed bullets will cause bruises which means meat loss. The .308 is a perfect choice for this type of deer. Slower than a .222 or .243 . Good hunting 🌿
