.22 Rimfire ammo is the weak point of accurate shooting with .22 rifles. Even the best European rimfire is "spotty". One fabulous group---then a series of "kind of" okay groups--then average groups and then bd groups followed by decent groups again. Even Ely Ten-X has spotty groups at times. This ammo is no better than all the rest in spite of the hype.

I like the high shoulder, they drop and they don't get up. I use the base of the tail and the eye, on a non-raised head, for the horizontal alignment and the front leg for the vertical. If the hog is running you can still use that aim point as the eye will still be on the similar plane. The high hit you demonstrated may not even be fatal.

Very educational, I like it. I'd like to add, that dead body of the game acts little bit differently compareed to living animal with blood in the veins that sprays around and resistance of tissues is also different a bit. Nevertheless, good job.

Great concept, guys! Keep it up. Super useful for a young hunter as myself.

I missed the distance these shots were made from. The shoulder shot is my preferred target. It anchors the animal in place and bone fragments, even if the bullet stays intact, damage the internal organs - heart, lungs, vascular - resulting in rapid death. The bullet exiting the opposite side also helps collapse the lungs more quickly, which also causes a more rapid death. I have some EcoStrike in 7mm Remington Magnum I hope to try on game this season.

That 308 is a Sako TRG-22. Nice rifle, but as the owner of both the Trg 22 and 42 (338 lapua), there is no comparison. The 338 will outshoot the 308 9 days out of 10 at any range you choose.

@J0SH881 hes just telling a story man, I'd say the same thing if I were him. Hunters take pride in their animal dont matter how big or small, we shot it and we're proud so we're gonna show it off yk?

I had quite the opposite on the meat damage. A heart lung shot on a duiker (308 Cal., 150 gr bullet) had a completely chest cavity and both front legs.

This video is based on obsolete marksmanship training curriculums. Modern Military Marksmanship Curriculums advise no mention of breathing and the student will shoot during his natural respiratory pause. Telling the student to watch his breathing will cause focus on breathing instead of sight alignment and trigger control and that leads to misplaced shots, as well as blurry vision, which further exacerbates the folly by preventing the student from focusing on reticle or a front sight. In other words if you have a coach that suggests your vertical string is a product of breathing get a new coach because the most likely cause of vertical stringing is inconsistent sight picture. My perspective on this subject is as a CMP-USAMU Military Rifle Instructor assisting the USAMU deliver Squad Designated Marksman Training, and US Distinguished Rifleman.
