Following the incident on the Saturday 7th May and social media videos that are circulating involving a member of the public that we were called to as part of our duties.
Upon arriving at the scene after being alerted by members of the public , we found one male clearly in distress and also acting in a criminal nature by allegedly exposing himself, this is obviously an extremely serious situation and as per our training, we became immediately concerned for the males safety and general wellbeing.
We also had the serious nature's of the reports, and began to form a corden around him, not only for the safety of others, but crime scene prevention and most importantly to give medical services a safe space to work if required.
Whilst we appreciate any members of the public wishing to record are perfectly within their right to do so, we also have to think about, not only there safety but the safety of the team, medical personal and also the wellbeing of the person In question who to repeat was clearly in distress and very vulnerable.
At no point did we or enforcement need to restrain the male or use physical intervention techniques.
We asked the members of the public to take some steps backwards and also not to record on this occasion due to the nature of the complaint, also a member of the team were already recording with the use of body cameras as per our policies and procedures, so the incident was logged.
It Is with regret that whilst 99% of the public complied with our request for the safety of themselves and the privacy of the male, a certain individual refused to comply with our reasonable and polite requests on several occasions. Then started to record a very vulnerable situation
We only needed to create a safe space.
It is with further regret that in the high pressure and serious situation, that we used language not benefitting the company ethos.
For which we apologise, but we hope the general public can understand that often as the first teams on scene it can be a very difficult position, especially when the allegations were as serious as they where.
We have spoken to the security industry authority, and numerous clients and no further action has been taken.
We ask for the public to place themselves in the operatives situation, and try to understand, that we are only trying to look after the public in difficult circumstances, we to are part of this community and are only trying to improve it and make it safer for all.

Ive been informed they train people to get there SIA license so he was completely aware of his actions, (section 5 public order, no SIA card showing, causing alarm and distress intentionally, IMHO. Thugs like this need to be banned from holding a SIA licence. How many people has he abused in the past? What future abuse is coming. Any company hiring him needs to be aware that he could cost them dearly with legal repercussions.

Great example of harassment with the security following him all the way around barricades and paths. A wall of humans to block the view? Ever thought of using some type of fabric? Problem solved, privacy created. Simple. But for a company director saying fuck off to a member of the public, numerous times and in front of adults and children.... that is unforgiveable. It wasn't a one off, he repeatedly swore over numerous minutes as he harassed the videographer. In this case the video is clear that there was no aggression on the part of the video creator and he wanted to be left alone. HSS demonstrate here for all to see that they are scumbags. Led by a director scumbag and employing only scumbags. Disgraceful behavior in public by a "professional" security company. How many other people have been harassed or worse. I would not be surprised to hear this company uses violence regularly. Regular drug testing of security staff could help identify problems.

I'm appaled to see someone who's supposed to be sia registered act in a very unprofessional way. Being sia registered myself this goes against what we are trained. Security guards only have authority if the local authority specify a defined area , but its interesting to note a recent questionnaire past around and answered by shoppers has stated they dislike shopping in town centres because of the thuggish behaviour many security guards or so called guards. A study carried out in I believe Southampton or some south coast town confirmed upto 40% of so called security guards are not licenced

So it was fine for them to record, but not fine for someone else to record. That's not how it works mate. My ex partner owns a security company. If any of his employees ever spoke to a member of the public like that, their arse would've been fired on the spot. His philosophy was, always treat people with respect, it costs nothing to leave a good impression, and a loss of potential work if you dont. This guys IQ is lower than his boot size. I agree with you. On New Year's Eve, I was filming because it had been ages since I have been awake for it and also because it was one of the first times that people were permitted to go outside their homes for an event such as this. One of the reasons for my filming was to create videos for people who were too afraid to leave their homes. I never got in anyone's face. The attitude of some of the Security shocked me. Some of them were rude and overly aggressive. All I wanted to do was to show people doing different things and how various people were celebrating. Many Security Guards stated that I was not permitted to film. On the other hand, we stopped to chat with some of the nicer ones. One of them said that if you go up to someone and you are rude and aggressive, then chances are that you shall not have a great interaction. I ended up contacting that particular pub, by email, praising the security guards. I have looked at some of the Google reviews for some of the other pubs and based upon some of the reviews, the feedback about the security staff was not that favourable. ***As for the term "Keyboard Warrior," perhaps that it is a great thing. It shows that you use the power of the written words as opposed to acting like a thug to communicate wiith people.***

Why exacerbate situations? It's much easier to approach people, with a smile and treat them respectfully, in the same manner you like to be treated. Keyboard warriors, or people who go through the correct channels to highlight any issues, or complaints is the correct way to make sure they go through to the correct department. They can't deny receiving an email, like they can with a phone call.
