Yea but that joke would get old after awhile, especially for a full TV show set with the Electric Mayhem which has multiple female characters. Some time has passed since the OG Muppets so I'm guessing Animal has canonically grown up and matured just a bit. Giving him more words but still retaining his chaotic spirit gives the writers more to work with and can therefore make new jokes! As well as tell new stories. The joke in the show is of Animal giving Nora random items because 'giving is his love language' which was funnier and more creative. Not everything's gotta be the same as it used to.

Why does modern Disney have to destroy everything? Yoy know... The muppet's show, Starwars, The Avengers, and so on.... Couldn't you just let Walt Dinsney rest in peace and keep your princeses the way they were? Oh! that doesn't sell nowadays....
