First time I watched Muqabla was in Channel V. After 1 minute of listening I realized it was a Tamil song. Back then Channel V did not play Tamil songs. I am a Tamilian yet the sounds and visual was so unique it was unbelievable that this was a Tamil song in presentation and approach. After that we all brought cassettes and jammed to muqabla in neighborhoods dance offs as kids. The impact of this song on pop culture is massive

Being an ARR fan, i have watched all the episodes of yours. This one is super special. Prabhudeva's child like innocense is so heart warming in this video. When he said he never listens to music because it reminds him work, i felt it is so genuine and normal humans wouldnt have given a thought about this aspect of musicians, dancers, actors, etc. what is entertainment for us is work for them and what is boredom for us is probably entertaining and soothing for them. It's true to the core! I'm an avid follower of music, of all genres. One day I was travelling with a friend in his Volvo car, who has the same taste. He put in a CD and asked me to listen. It started with melodies, which I love always, even some short songs for a minute or two were amazing. And, suddenly this 'Mukabala' song came which was a fast number but appealing. Generally I don't inclined towards the fast ones, but this one did something amazing. I asked him to stop the car to have a fag & listen to it again [it was a beach road] and asked him about the film. After few months when our own SPB was having a concert in the city where I lived, I can see the crowd insisted for that song thinking that it was sung by him. Though it was not by him but Mano, due to the audiences' vehement demand, late SPB allowed his troupe to perform/sing that song. Though w e lost our SPB in the pandemic, we have our own M.Ratnam, R.Menon, ARR & P.Deva and many more talented people still with us. Thank God for that.

Wonderful work by the channel and the interviewer Umesh Agarwal! I grew up with ARRs music and its amazing to hear the stories. I'm hoping you connect with Bharat Bala and Kanika and get the back story to Vande Mataram as well. I do have a request though. I noticed that the people who are being interviewed respond in English or Hindi per their choice. Why not encourage responses in Tamil/or interviewee's language of choice as well? Mr Prabhu's interview would have been so much more richer/colorful had he been given the option to converse in Tamil or even Kannada (his mother tongue).

My choice for Moment of the Day could be rather different and any of these 3 as I felt they’re more deserving moments to be cherished than the featured one. My moments ranking are: 1. Where he says Muqabula is Rahman’s ‘Beat it!’ and also compares how Rahman achieved his feat much earlier than the very King of Pop🤴himself who did it probably after a 💯 songs! 2. How much Rahman’s music 🎼 challenged him to raise the bar in dancing and match foot steps to his foot tapping rhythms! 3. If not for Rahman’s ‘Chiku buku Raile’ and ‘Muqabula’ songs, how he wouldn’t have been that much an overnight 💫 he was back then! Why even after 30 years, it was such a rage and he’s still world famous particularly for these two songs and he’s very repertoire of India’s Michael Jackson!
