This fits fine in my guitar case, you just disassemble with the hand thumbscrews. It takes about 10 seconds. It then fits in the little box right "below" the tuners towards the body.

I was about to buy this support but now realize it is deeply flawed. This is one of the best reviews of guitar gear that I've come across. I wish Alan had made some suggestions of superior guitar supports in this video. Playing classical guitar for hours on end with your left foot 5 to 6" off the ground is supper disruptive to the balance of the back and will result in serious pain sooner or later. Hence the search for one of these back-saving gadgets.

Shoot, I ordered one a day ago. Their website offers fixed extensions for it.

Murata makes extension rods in six sizes ranging from 2" to 8 3/8" in length. The unit comes with the 3" rod as standard issue. So unfortunately, you first have to buy the unit and play with it to figure out what length you actually need...and then pay another $9 - $18 (plus shipping) to get the size rod that will provide ergonomic utility for your particular needs. Seems like there should be a better way to do this.

Or just buy some metal rod at Home Depot and paint it black.

did you try attaching it to the lower part ot the guitar? (like pointing towards the bridge, touching the wider "circle" of the guitar's body)
