Murder Drones: What Is Cyn’s Ultimate Goal?

Short as this is, this is a pretty solid video. Short and sweet. And a lot of this really *does* make sense from what we see in the actual show. Cyn as a villain was calculating and planning, she just fell to her own Robo god vanity. Cyn for the win.

Not to mention she was waaay too boastful and arrogant thus why she lost when she could have won if she wanted to. If she met the God Truth, she would get destroyed both mentally and psychically, there is that saying: "You cannot escape the truth.' I feel Solver is just using Cyn till she serves her purpose, she calls everyone her puppets when she herself is a puppet without her knowing deep down.

I personally think that the Solver is a corrupted AI/program of some sort that infected Cyn, the only question I have is if Cyn and the Solver merged to form the character we know or if the solver deleted/buried Cyn's personality as when we see the Solver in Uzi's tail it seems to retain the same personality. If it is the former that can help explain why we see Doll's Hud when Uzi eats the Solver core thing, the Solver has a distinct personality but absorbs aspects of its hosts and the cores it eats. Backing this up further is that she says "better to assimilate then explain" she says assimilate, not consume, not destroy implying that something remains of those it kills although I doubt that goes for Tessa, for better or worse. But that is just my theory, a lot of this left up to interpretation.

I refer to them as Cyn as its more recognisable. There might be a Black Dogs thing going on with an assimilated hive mind allowing personalities to be retained to a certain degree. I do think the Solver we see is mostly Cyn, as I feel a merely corrupted AI wouldn't have so much personality, but hey, could be wrong.

True I think uzi is in a simulation after eating cyn becuse of her blacking our and waking up in a completely different area and it wasn't her wasent her friends so what did unless it's not real an is a simulation in her head and is useing a form of doll and cyn becuse it was apart of them and I feel what would happen is N and V would try to hack there way in like in ep 5 but would be in a form of idk cockroachs or something

@@DireDuck We see from the start from ep5 it was always like this as well as the CC always referring to her as [Solver] when she speaks so it's safe to say there was no Cyn (at least on screen anyway). And as you said we refer to it as Cyn as it's more recognizable and easier to type. The assimilation could be it wanting to explain what it's goal is as it may be too complicated to say out loud so easier just to get you in my head. Just as gono4806 said she doesn't seem to want to kill the drones but to integrate them into her head like she did with Doll. The Solver could be lonely and as strange as that sounds seems to be backed up by her behavior (especially with N), as why didn't it just go straight toward the core after landing back in ep3? There was nothing stopping it from doing this so why does it just hang around for ~8 months doing nothing? It seems bored w/o having someone to go along with it and now seems content(?) inside Uzi.

@@Kirakishou7 Apart from questionable writing, I think Cyn was more about to eliminate/assimilate the 2 Solver users who could pose a threat to her, as otherwise copper 9 has little real value. I do think she wants to have some company, like in my video, she wants to have "friends" to play with but she wants total control over them, making it so they can't say no. That would be why she liked N so much, he was up for anything and rarely if ever told her no. But hey, maybe I am just insane, I am glad my video was able to promote so much discussion. 🙂

My personal headcannon is that Cyn simply wants to erase all forms of human presence from the universe. My belief for this is two things, first she made the disassembly drones to kill humans specifically when she couldve easily just devoured the planet and two, in episode 5 she says to Tessa's mom "they" cannot be thrown away or discarded anymore, which possibly hints at a deeper malice/revenge towards humans for throwing "them" aka drones away. And three, she disguised as Tessa in episode 6 i think states that she destroyed multiple human planets, not specifying if it was more than just those (which it couldve been).

I always thought the solver and cyn were two different egos or beings or programs? It's shown multiple times where the solver will act independently to protect the host from harm as with doll and uzi avoiding taking bullets or thrown things at them. Also it's shown that to protect the host from over heating, when they overuse the program, they would need oil putting their host's ego aside for survival like it did for uzi in the camp episode. I always assumed every drone/robot had their own solver but would only activate when they're experience life threating situations. Almost like a safety measure to make sure the robot's core weren't accidently killed during whatever task they were given (such as mining where the place could collapse and kill them), but humans realized it could activate without the drones having a task or OS to follow when other humans were mistreating them. Also there's probably a safety measure for each solver to not be able to affect another solver because each solver is actively trying to prevent harm to its host? A kind of oversight on the human's side when creating them perhaps. Also I have a theory that the solver is actually the program that controls the nano-nites or tiny nano bots in their bodies or spit. It's able to infect objects to control, copy objects, or even recreate the host's body. This would explain why they need to constantly eat other drones, not only for oil but also parts.

I see Cyn/Absolute Solver in similar vain as the Indominus Rex from Jurassic World. They're an abreaction of nature/programing with no real idea of where they fit in the greater world. When J. C. Jenson in space started experimenting with the Absolute Solver and developing a patch so that a Drone's main personality to retain dominie while having full access to the Absolute Solver's. Cyn/Absolute Solver saw this a threat, new Drones holding the same level of power as Cyn/Absolute Solver. Cyn/Absolute Solver even mentioned as Tessa that her feed kept getting turned off meaning that Cyn/Absolute Solver knew that J. C. Jenson in space was trying to harness her power and turn it against Cyn/Absolute Solver. Cyn/Absolute Solver sends the Disassembly Drones to Copper 9 to kill all threat to Cyn/Absolute Solver.

Honestly, given how chaotic cyn and the absolute solver she uses is, It’s easy for me to label her as simply a chaotic evil thing with maybe a mix of every theorized motivation keeping her going, but in the moment you never know what’s driving them if anything at all aside from just the pleasure they seem to get from what they do. Every theory can be correct in my head, idk.

One way I see things, mainly between Cyn and Tessa was that Cyn wanted to be in control, hence why she was sort of kinning Tessa. (Note how her hair style is identical to Tessa's own). Tessa was the head, the leader, and Cyn wanted that, so she kinned her. But she tried to give Tessa mercy, saying "don't go to the manor, or else." I kinda presence it as Cyn testing if Tessa would be loyal to her or not. She can possess J, V and N, but Tessa's human, so it's either she comes willingly, or Cyn will take her role. So, when she say Tessa not playing into her game, she killed her, to take her place as the player of the toys. A role that Tessa either intentionally, or subconsciously played on her, N, V and J.

I think what they should have done is explain the solvers origins and what’s the deal with the relationship between Cyn and the solver. like is Cyn nothing more then a shell and it’s just the solver talking or is the solver just a tool used by Cyn or both just more lore of the solver really

I think they want to keep the "mystery" up for the Solver as much as possible. Also I don't think they really had the time to give the Solver more, so they left a little bread crumb trail for her motivations that I followed. Similar to the stuff with Tessa. Hey... that's a video idea. : }

I honestly think the solver just corrupted Cyn's desires and took on her identity/data. The solver didnt care about robots being considered broken, but that could definitely be a trauma that Cyn has. The solver, after taking Cyn over, took on that malice as a motivator for destroying the humans and creating "better" drones. Normally, as we saw with Uzi in the last scene, the solver is probably chaotic neutral and just does what it wants otherwise. It became evil as a means of carrying out Cyn's subconscious objective.

@@SoraWorkerDrone I think the overboosted ego would stem from a few places 1. N is essentially her favorite toy. She’s been playing with him since the before the gala massacre. Why would your favorite toy strike back against you. Drones are her playthings. Her “cute puppets” puppets are controlled. They are incapable of moving on their own. 2. She knows she’s powerful, so she probably thought that she’d easily be able to beat the purple thing that had only been using the solver for a few weeks at most. (I doubt the time gap between episodes is more than half a month) 3. She’d easily beaten Doll and consumed her core. This would likely have given her a power boost to some extent. Side note. Did anyone else find Cyn crushing the [Null] sphere Uzi threw at her extremely satisfying? Just the fact that they assumed it would be that easy to beat her and had the gall to put sunglasses on their visors as if they could swoop in and be the hero’s like that. And then Cub causes a tremor and almost knocks them into their backs. It was just very very cathartic for some reason.

I feel like that they're main purpose is to just be a looming threat for the series, a scary figure that when you see, you think "oh, sh#ts getting real now". Yknow? Imagine classic disney villans. They come on screen, say some scary stuff, and then maybe send in some obstacles for the hero's, and leave. And like classic disney villans, the second they actually try to fight, they get bodied almost immediately. In short, its not about their character, it's what they add and change to everyone else

Liam likes to make his creatures a little more complex. It would be quite the departure if not. One of the problems your theory has is, it does not truly answer if it is Cyn who was in control of her body or the Absolute Solver, you merely speculate that it is Cyn and always was Cyn with no motive, and another thing, if she really does it for "the lulz", (as you suggest by saying she treats the world as her own dollhouse), then pray tell, why did she not simply go immediately after Nori's possession to destroy Copper 9 herself, after all, the research that was in there could potentially take away her powers, or destroy her and she'd probably knew it was guarded, so why didn't she just go to Copper 9 to destroy Cabin Fever Labs, and eat the planet or whatever instead of just waiting around and sending a ton of drones that died? And why would she want to destroy the drones, she has no need for drones, and they do not even pose a threat to her since they cannot even leave the planet, she could just easily pinned the blame on the "stupid hoomans" and that be the end of that, but noooooo, for plot convenience she acted like a moron, waited around like after sending like 100 murder drones after Cabin Fever Labs, and then went for no reason since even if the drones found the "McGuffin" they still couldn't leave the planet, and even supposing they repair the pods and leave, which is doubtful, they still wouldn't know where Cyn/the Absolute Solver's main body is, so she would be safe.

My personal idea is that.. They are AI😂 More specifically: They learning and adapting from and for entertainment around. So.. Everything Solver did was a copycats with a plot twist of "someone never knew the meaning of life to care". CYN, I believe, is only present in "I have a big bro" moments, as a assimilated part that Solver chose to keep because it is more interesting. Being "Tessa" also part of the plan to keep things as familiar as possible, but still "from AI perspective ". But SolverTessa do not understand that NVJ is a family and friends who should be protected, because Solver never catched enough information to such analysis. Basically, everything Solver is a crappy crazy Eliot Family: Greed, Ruthlessness, Indulgence, Carelessness, and wastefulness - Tessa's DNA doners and all humans around. Funny, "N is great and belong to me", building up something from scratch, "being part of the group " and "being adored" - Tessa and the remaining of CYN. Solver is a puzzle, where everything matching because they ate some parts, broke some parts to fit, and definitely never cared about "the bigger" picture 😅

Having cyn skin Tessa and wear her skin from that point onwards also plays into the prominent themes of class struggle that underpins a lot of the series. Tessa is or was clearly the scion of a very very wealthy family. Thematically cyn is the embodiment of capitalist consumerism, a grey goo apocalypse of commodification, treating everything and everyone as a tool and or fuek for her endless consumption and growth, wearing the rotten skin of the rich and powerful as her human disguise when all that was human about her has been twisted and perverted.
