My son is going thru trying to get shared custody of his 2 1[2. Yo. It has taken 17 months to go through all the bs and hes only getting every other weekend. The men have to prove themselves and sometimes jump through hoops. Fortunately Dan was a very intelligent man and had money to get a good attorney, many men can’t afford a lawyer and they only get 2 weekends a month. It’s heartbreaking for the father and child.

The police answered the phone He asked the police to put Dan on because he assumed that Wendi had him arrested on false charges because of how difficult the divorce was. ( He had advised Mr. Markel to stay far away from her and her family) He said he knew right away that Wendi had something to do with the shooting when the police told him he had been shot. He was at the hospital. It is a great interview the love this man had for Dan Markel was very apparent.

The police found her having lunch at cafe with some of her friends right after the murder. They took her in their cop car to the station and started questioning her. She didn’t even ask WHY they found her and brought her in. Incredible. And then her reaction when they told her why she was there… her reaction was bad acting. Then immediately she was babbling about having lunch with friends, going to the liquor store, and asked who would pick up the kids from daycare. It was clear she wasn’t very concerned about Dan and his condition. She was even smiling and laughing! It was so strange to watch.

Ironically, I’m realizing now, if he’d agreed to that insane arrangement where Wendi moves back to Miami with the kids and he drives all the way down and back twice a week to keep the custody arrangement, he’d probably still be alive today. Of course it would have been an enormous and almost impossible task to keep that up for 14 or 15 years. And it was entirely unreasonable and unfair for Wendi to have made those demands. He rightly called her out on it, the judge agreed, and now here we are: he’s dead and the adelson family are well on their way to being more than 50% in state custody. Sickening.

But remember that the boys weren’t their only contentious issue. In their divorce documents Dan was suspicious of Wendi hiding large amounts of money and some assets. She took the boys while he was out of town - she prearranged the movers and Harvey and donna helped her move. She took money out of their accounts, had everything planned… Wendi was very calculating and set herself up nicely for when she left him. So it wasn’t only about the boys (although I’m sure that was a big motivator for Dan to be out of the picture).

The Father maybe didn’t know in advance but he sure had his own ticket to flee. The whole lot of them felt their needs were greater than Dan Markel’s and need to pay in some way.

Why is Agenette's title tag shown again at 2.39 while introducing Jason, a professor and Dan's friend? Anyway this interview was interesting but kind of hard to focus on.

Jason Solomon seems very intellectually & emotionally intelligent. It’s good that he has spoken out, as it backs up the decisions in court, not in a legal sense, but it lets the public know that the juries came to the right decisions, and also gives the juries acknowledgement that they made the right decision. His voice could also help the Markel boys someday - it’s so sad the Adelson family tried to erase their loving parent from their lives!

Sorry for your loss Jason ; what a shock it must have been for you and all who knew him. Did Dan have a good relationship with his in laws before he married into the Adelson Family TrEE? Imagine how Dan's teenage son's feel? I truly wish Dan would have swiped, no thank you, on Jdate. The only blessing he got from Wendi was his two kids. The Adelson family had red flags all over them. Grant it, we only know him from what his family and friends have said about him and unfortunately good people have to dance with a bunch of demons, in spite of being a good person. I hope that 2024 sees Wendi in cuffs and sentenced for the rest of her life for helping end his life.

It's all hind sight now, but the big mistake was getting involved with then marrying Wendi. Any attempts to salvage the marriage or compromise on child custody by commuting to and from Tallahassee would have been all futile. I know how those toxic families operate bec I come from one, and you just have to cut off completely just like the older son Rob did.

What an evil family Wendi has!!! That they were willing, completely willing to conspire to murder the father of those two beautiful boys and actually all played their parts in the actual commission of that murder. It's despicable and I hope Wendi herself faces the consequences of the part she most definitely played in Dan's death. I think dan would still be alive if he had married a conservative, ortho woman. Wendi and her toxic family were just culturally jewish, not religious. They mocked him calling him super religious. They met in Jdate but I dont think he considered her secular background would be a problem. In reading Ruth Markels book in the first 2 chapters she talks about religious matters and that at 12 he wanted to be a rabbi, and went to Israel for a year. I spoke with Ruth and mentioned I thought it was his ultra orthodoxy that created their dissention but she denied it, saying he was just "pro". I'm not blaming him just pointing out Wendi was not a good choice. I also think she was jealous of his success.

She also ensured her "hands were clean" and threw her ex boyfriend and her family under the bus immediately as much as she said her family could not have done it. And since then she has used thwm as much as she could and has now abandoned her family. Charlie boy! Make an arrangement with prosecution before your mother or Wendi does!!!!
