MJ only had that fight on 16/12/2023. He should go avenge his loss to Tapales but I think he's waiting for Inoue to move up so he can get the WBA and make out it like he's ducking him. Looks like Fulton is rematching Figueroa on Tanks undercard. Good to see him back in the ring so soon. He did say he was angry about being on the prelims but they had something big coming up.

Inoue first beat Fulton to take his WBC and WBO belts. Next he beat Tapales to get the WBA and IBF belts. After Inoue beat Tapales and became Undisputed, the WBC mandatory, Nery, was deemed (presumably by all the organisations' mutual agreement) the first mandatory Inoue had to defend against. Having beat the WBC mandatory, presumably, the WBO mandatory, Goodman, would've been next up. Inoue and his team had repeatedly said Inoue was aiming to fight three times in '24: in May, September and December. Goodman jumped into the ring right after Inoue had beaten Nery to tell the Champ to fight him next or vacate, lol. But when the team turned round and offered him the next chance he declined bc he already had a fight lined up for July so requested Inoue's next fight slot in December instead. Similarly, MJ also had a fight lined up for July (which got put back after MJ got a cut in the fight camp). Whether Team Inoue knew of MJ's situation or not, they were perfectly within their rights to offer the next fight to WBO #2, TJ. Only, when the fight negotiations had been virtually concluded several weeks later, the WBA ordered Inoue to fight their mandatory, MJ. Since MJ had a fight lined up, and they'd also already gone and fixed Inoue's next fight - which they didn't wish to renege on - the WBA granted them the mandatory exemption. So the order of mandatory defences would have passed on to the IBF mandatory, Goodman again presumably. So the team gave Goodman the next shot, in December. The next mandatory defence would be against the present WBC mandatory, Picasso. So, if Inoue decides to stay fighting at 22, he will probably be fighting the popular Mexican at the T-Mobile Arena in Vegas, come April-May. And that's the way things look like they're going too.. Ohashi has said they're looking to fight in the Middle East following the US. So that fight could well be against the WBA mandatory, MJ (should he keep his spot), in September, in Riyadh. Then, it looks like Inoue will have that big showdown with Nakatani at 22, at the Tokyo Dome, in December.

@@BentleyVB Well they all HAVE to say that, don't they? 😂 ALL fighters have perceivable flaws in technique and they're overall game and strategies, Inoue included. It's just that Inoue's remarkably proficient in most areas, as the Compubox stats reveal. Since he's going up against bigger, tougher guys who might be able to absorb his punches better and might be able to force him onto the back foot more, he's evidently adapting to a more aggressive counterpunching style - very nicely too. Elite level southpaws might give him most problems still. And he ought to incorporate more lateral movement, perhaps - but that's more down to his overall ring generalship methodology.. I guess the kinds of challenges he has ahead of him, especially at Feather, will bring out aspects of his game and his constant evolution into the one of the most complete fighters ever, with more wrinkles to his game. That's why I love watching him fight every time, even with a lesser opponent in front of him.. Bring Goodman on!!! 🔥

The WBA likely made MJ an interim Champ so that he could one or two 12-rounder title defences in order to get into peak shape for his mandatory Inoue shot. Also helps both fighters with the promotional build up to the big one in Riyadh. Still, there's always the risk. Turki will make it worthwhile, though. With Hearn's Shabaz Masoud giving Warren's Liam his first pro loss, hopefully, Hearn will give him a fight with MJ in April-May, with the winner (MJ, most likely) going on to fight Inoue in September. Maybe that was why Liam was talking to everyone about fighting next in Riyadh and possibly fighting Inoue, only Shabaz might get that chance instead. Karma, eh.. 🤔

First of all, fans don't care which one should be KOed by Inoue earlier. I guess to defend two titles IBF and WBO at a single shot, Goodman is effective for the Inoue camp. Also Goodman who won against Aleem to be mandatories of two sanctioning bodies earlier than MJ is fair enough to be the next. Inoue is a WBA super champion and the allowed period to defend the title is 18 month. How can MJ who just wating without fighting claim he should be the next legally?
