I was born and raised in St. Louis..... Lunatics put STL on the map in the rap scene. The Rams was the greatest show on turf. 20+ years later and nothing compares to the energy that the Lunatics brought the city. It's a shame we only got a couple albums. They would have sold more than Nelly did solo. Record label definitely didn't get it.

Glad I listened. I forgot how successful and influential the St Louis movement was. I definitely begrudgingly liked them but I must admit I am an East Coast cat through n through. Sometimes we were arrogant and snobby about other acts around the country. I was a bit of a hater instead of embracing them. Now in my 40s I can fully appreciate them.... ✌️

His flow was crazy, he was a better rapper than Nelly. But in this industry, skills aren't everything. He got screwed by the record label, like so many other extremely talented artists. I think if he came up in this era, he would've been bigger. But back in those days, you were dependent on the record label and radio to push your music. If they didn't want to, you were screwed. Artists today have their own platforms.

Chingy's style was cool af, he had the best music, and could've been a lot bigger had he not beefed with Ludacris. Jackpot & Powerballin are the greatest two albums outta St Louis. Set the tone Dallas, Texas 2001- August/Sept Lets talk about when Nelly and the St lunatics was on tour with Destiny Childs. Me and 3 friend of mine had tickets but we got there late but just enuff in time to get recruit to ride on the many tour buses The St. Lunatics were occupying! Dude said I was a real "thicky thick girl" and that convinced me to ride with a bus full of men on a pill at that (1st time every taking 1) Apparently they did not have the direction to the after party so we rode to the Marriott with them off of 35 in Dallas and we went to some dude room and told us if we wanted to meet Nelly we was gonna have 2 "meet" them 1st babbbbbbby that was b4 my "pre garden tool" era bccccccccc WE WAS HIGHLY offended and called us a ride and had them trail us to the spot (club Diamonds in Red Bird) and THEN AND ONLY THEN WE GOT TO MEET MURPHY LEE AND NELLY-MURPHY WAS LIKE THE ONLY COOL AND DOWN EARTH ONE WE GOT TO REALLY BE AROUND--THEY HAD THESE FAKE ST LUNTAIC MONEY AND HE SIGNED MINES, LOL--of course i could not tell u where its a today where its at to save my life-- If Murph in these comments I now he remb that play money they was throwing up ,lol.. love u murp
