Ali don’t like Luda bc he got bars, is famous and one hell of a business. Luda and Nelly are everything Ali isn’t mostly due to his own fears, ego, emotions, laziness and worrying about the next man too much
@jamesbroomfield7799 Жыл бұрын
Ali is the type that never worked hard to get anything in my opinion. It seems like he's the type that bandwagons off the next man or rides the next man's coattail to get somewhere. Just like Nelly said he wasn't a part of the group until Jive came in town and was about to sign them and he hurried up and joined the group and then he hurried up and try to take control everything. Nellie and them did all the ground work all the talent shows all the mixtapes trying to get a buzz and at the last minute Ali wants to join the group once he sees them about to get signed. And then once Nellie blows all he just wants to sit around collecting checks from Nelly and basically for doing nothing. Nobody needed Ali's input or needed a few of his bars or he needed his hooks now they could have got that from anybody at that point

That was not how that was explained by Nelly. Nelly's version for the group was much more believeable. But he didn't really get into the details of the slow payments and the screwing him out of the 5%. But Nelly did more for the group than the group ever did or could for Nelly. That is not even debateable.

Should Nelly had him as the president of dirty entertainment at one point in time but he fumbled the ball. Nelly was expecting him to sign new artist will bring a new talent in and all he want to do is try to make his own CDs thinking he was still going to blow. But Nelly pretty much said at that point in time he already knew the the ship had passed Ali by by that time nobody was feeling Ali nobody was looking for Ali cd. At that point in time Ali needed to accept the fact that he wasn't a popular superstar and he didn't have that type of character to be a star and he should have just started finding new talent instead of trying to be a star and putting out his garbage CDs. Had all he did that he probably still being a good position right now he's probably still be the president of dirty entertainment and we probably have a few new artists out under Nelly's dirty entertainment umbrella

From what I gathered from this interview, Ali had the mindset of (it doesn’t matter what the contract say, it doesn’t matter how much you make up front, the only thing that’s important is getting famous and then everything else will work it’s self out) Nelly had the mindset of making sure the contract and business was properly taken care of and if it wasn’t for Nelly bringing them along after he blew up, they would probably still be in St. Louis as local talent Also Ali has the type of mindset where he feels entitled since Nelly is successful and thinks nelly is obligated to take care of him and look out for him as much as possible. The thing is, Nelly put you in position over 20 years ago, it’s your fault that you didn’t manifest tangibles. Ali cared more about fame than he cared about gaining fortune, 20 years later, he’s somewhat famous and probably financially unstable

That Management deal story back fires on Ali. Someone came to you that wants to work with Nelly on a management deal. They Cut you in on a pre deal. Nelly takes a different deal that does not include you. At a time you guys are not even speaking to each other, yet you expect him to just give you free money out of the deal. Nelly explained this in his interview. Its a 100,000 deal for Nelly. IN order for you to make 5% that has to come out of Nelly's Money. Why would you expect him to pay himself less so that someone that he does not even speak to gets money? Yet you keep saying your a Man.

That's true and then also I realize that nelly had the total package as a star and he was more advanced than the other members in the st lunatics earlier on in their career but ali is more on the business side than being an artist and he did a lot of things with universal records that people didn't know about like for example he tried to get huey signed R.I.P. when he came out when he first started jumping off but the label denied him then he tried to sign chingy which didn't work also but luckily he sold 3 million records with DTP under ludacris record label which started the beef between nelly and chingy then fast forward he went after J-kwon and tried to put him on universal but they also didn't want him and then jermaine dupri snatched him up and the next thing you know he's with so so def so basically after those opportunities fell through he had no choice but to focus on the lunatics and ride with nelly but to be real about Ali's situation you can't carry a grown ass man forever and blame another man for your problems.

I haven't read the book, but I am pretty confident that signing everything away to practice and get studio time is bad advice. Ali sounds line a bad fast talker trying to run a hustle. He can't figure out why Nelly made it big and he didn't. Nelly pretty much summed it up best when he said becaus he is a star. Nelly had the talent, charisma and look and it still shows when you see them both interviewed 20 years later.
@geminiqueen37543 жыл бұрын
What I got from both interviews is the way Nelly does business is direct; you want me and I will only sign with you if you give me x,y, and z. Ali's business style is indirect. I'll get in anyway I can. I'll let you take my first born and when I'm good, I'll go back and get him. He always has to go back and fix things, but the problem is he's assuming the opportunity to fix things will always be there. As he said Nelly bought their publishing back, not him. Nelly got the group a record deal, not him. He doesn't have leadership qualities, so Nelly treats him like someone hired to do a gig. If I was Nelly, I wouldn't trust him to be the plug between me and my management either. His wife sounds more like a go getter, and I caught that he said he's divorced. I wonder if she got tired? Ali just wants a steady paycheck, and a corner office, so he needs to go get that.

He wanted to be a liaison between Nelly and management like who even needs that? It's like he wants to job or wants a percentage to do stuff that is irrelevant
