I don’t listen to the new rap nowadays so I can’t comment on it, but from as early as the 80s into early 2000s, rap was so good. The rappers treated it like a real art form, while making it fun or sad/heartfelt.

Definitely, I barely listen to any rap/hip hop after 2010. Theres a few that break through the period but I just cant stand the over-use of autotune and everyone using the triplet type lyric phrases and the trap groove on the hi-hats and blasting of the synth bass that everyones been using for like 15 years now, all with lazy weak lyrics on it. I miss back when lyrics and a clean danceable groove were the emphasis and not all these special effects and other noise.@@shonmoore3954

every damn song from the past has these comments...we get it, yall grew up on this music and you feel nostalgic about it. I grew up listening to 00s too, but this song right here is basically a catchy melody with some average lyrics without any great substance, a typical mainstream song that any era has. All of that jermaine dupri music. Go ahead and compare this to something from Nas and you will hear the difference.
@JonBonesJones847 жыл бұрын
Damn Mixes What's the difference? Even Nas started to slip after his first few albums. He was actually overrated after his first 2. It's not only about feeling nostalgic. Back then, the rappers were more creative and more authentic than today. Every damn beat today is the same lame-ass generic beat. No two songs from 90s or 2k's sound similar to each other. I don't know what really happened. Was it Drake who killed hip hop and opened the doors to shitty hip hop or was it indie rappers? Either way, we will never ever see or hear anything close to what the 90s and 2ks offered us.

2003, early 20s was the time I wish I can live and see once again. Them jerseys were definitely hot and sporty to rock. And Murphy Lee did land a banger. In Fact St Lunatics were the 1st Group to lay down a BET Uncut Video like no other. Ya know what I'm talking about... Them boyz had BET Raw Uncut on 🔐

Nelly was pushed to be the front man bc he had his album and a radio hit ready to go but they all were supposed to come out at the same time. I still do believe that Murphy Lee outshined him when they were on the same track.

Every Time Murphy Lee And Jermaine Dupri Sing And Rap The Chorus, Who Is The Person Who Says And Shouts The Background Vocals After Murphy Lee And Jermaine Dupri Sing And Rap The Chorus. I Have Never Seen This Person In Liner Notes Get Credit For The Background Vocals. If You Listen To The Chorus You Hear Background Vocals. For Example You Can Hear Someone That Says And Shouts "Uh Oh" After Jermaine Dupri In The Chorus And In The Explicit Version You Hear That Someone Says And Shouts "S---" After Murphy Lee In The Chorus. Thanks.

Murphy Lee was the real talent in St. lunatics rapwise, Nelly was good at melodies but I think Murphy was penning most of his raps
