Murphy modded by TK Scenic Elevators at the Park Vista Hotel Gatlinburg TN

(October 2023) Sadly these used to be custom impulse however TK did a good job on this mod. This is at least the 2nd mod as they were also Murphy at one point.

I have waited YEARS for you to see these elevators! Probably the most awesome I've ever ridden besides the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta. It's so weird seeing these with the mod though. I always remember them with the custom Impulses. I loved how each elevator had two up/down indicators, and on two of the cars the chimes were out-of-tune...it was discordant and awesome! A maintenance person told me as a kid that the 16th floor just has the motors to the main elevators. Don't know the accuracy of that, but I believed it. Weird how the service elevators are the only ones that go to the pool floor.

This building itself is so stunning and beautiful. The elevators itself are great. But thank goodness these are glass. I noticed the bang going up that was a little scary.

Yep. They did. However he was incorrect about US elevator. Us elevator was not around when this hotel was built.

These actually were originally United States, but then modernized By Dover With impulse before, Thyssenkrupp got to them

I find it interesting how TKE is now using the pure MAD fixture package (some type of BS button with the Julius surround braille and a Giotto LCD indicator) like what they did to this and the new parking elevator at the Sheraton in Nashville instead of using TKE's typical MAD mod elements. Honestly, the quality feels more like a downgrade, despite TKE generally being the best of the big four companies. Would've personally been more sold on a mod had it have Innovation, EPCO, Dupar, or CJ Anderson fixtures with a CE Electronics or EMotive indicator for quality's sake. Anyways, these are still awesome and it looks like they did a good job with this.

I definitely remember these elevators‼️ I have been watching these for a long time by JimLiElevators‼️ I did see these from cannycart and TJElevatorfan a long time ago too, but mainly I watched JimLiElevators’ videos of these elevators. I actually did see this hotel from the Gatlinburg Skybridge/Skypark in the distance, but I wasn’t able to visit this hotel unfortunately :(. Next time I’m here, I definitely hope to come here and see these elevators in person myself. These are awesome, famous, and very interesting elevators, as is the hotel itself too. The internal elevators are staff elevators, but they also access the ground floor which the scenic elevators do not, so the internal ones are also the parking garage elevators as well.
